It's not really indicative of the general gaming public. Sounds like you are rooting for it to do bad. I don't see why anyone(except people with a chip on their shoulder about the liscense still) would hope for sales to go lower from year to year. The more money they make the more they can spend on resources the following year.
I think how the OS community recieve a game is a good indication of sales. I mean OS is made up of people who like video games so I don't see why people who like video games but aren't on OS would be so different. Just a little less serious about it.
Oh I am rooting for bad sales this year. No chip on my shoulder but if sales go up I would worry that they would have no incentive to upgrade franchise mode for M12. Sales going down shows EA franchise mode is important to alot of people. And I strongly disagree about more sales = more investment. Bad sales are more likely to lead to more investment to change that. We will have to wait and see. Hope you enjoy the game.

Re: Madden NFL 11 Demo Available Now, Please Post Impressions Here

I finally downloaded this last night. I'm enjoying NCAA 11 so much, and after reading a lot of impressions here, I decided to just wait. Well, I understand now what people meant about hating the strategy pad. I don't like it either.

After playing this demo, I think I will pass on Madden this year. NCAA will keep me playing football all year.

Better sales does not lead to more investment. That's evident from the last 6 years. Like I said once before, the biggest investment EA made in Madden already happened. That is the exclusive license. It was an investment for their benefit and not so much ours. That investment allows them to make less of an investment in development. When there is nothing else pushing you to take more risk, you take almost zero risk. You can do this and be profitable short term, but eventually quality and reputation will do you in. That's what's happening now to EA Tiburon. That's why they will do whatever means necessary to hold onto that license. I'm not rooting for anything except for another company to be able to make an NFL game. Those who enjoy Madden should be able to have their game of choice just like I should be able to have mine.

Good news!
I still have a bad feeling it is still going be silent in the retail version if you turn off the Coordinator voice.

Ok I have played the demo quite a few times now with both teams. Not once have I seen anybody bite on a play action play.

Anybody seen it?

Manning had the best PA rating in M10 but in the demo he hasn't fooled anybody.

To play devils advocate here..

1.) The Jets have the best defense in the game

2.) The Colts O-Line actually isn't THAT good..in real life or on the game. Jeff Saturday is rated high, and I think the RT is, but everyone else, especially the guards (where you seemed to be getting beat the most, especially RG) are rated in the low 70s

3.) you were calling playaction fakes in situations that didn't make sense. You weren't able to run the ball at all so no D is gonna bite just due to that, but also you get stuffed on first down so you go ahead and call a playaction pass on 2nd and 10..of course the D aint gonna bite theyre just gonna pin their ears back and come at you

4.) i do agree it looked pretty cheesy regardless..but still, it IS all-madden, which in theory is designed to be next to impossible to beat. It's the hardest level for a reason, thats what sliders are for.
