I don't get the argument of nanoing not being a real football tactic. People that nano just abuse the AI.

Tell me how the defenses beat the offensive line.
Overloading a certain gap.. AKA Putting two LBs in the A-gap while having two DTs blitzing the Guards.. then having both DEs dropping back to cover..

They also use stunts.. or zone blitzes.. Stunts, you send linemans or linebackers into gaps other than the ones they are in front of.. You'll have a DT and DE switch gaps.. One will go first, then the other loops around him and goes through a certain gap. It's even more complex in a 3-4 system..

Zone Blitz are popular "nanos." People put DTs in QB Spys, then have both tackles covered.. so the DEs are engaged with the LT & RT. Next, you have two OLBs blitzing C-gaps. So you are wondering.. What about the LG/C/RG? Those two DTs in Spys will fake blitz to distract them, then they will drop back in Spys.. The spys are really used as yellow zones. You can't get as good of coverage with yellow zones as you can with spy zones..

You only want to do the spy technique with QBs that stay in the pocket.. or you could just put a slot WR on a slant in, then you roll out and throw to the middle of the field.

I don't buy that we "abuse" the AI. I use a defense that blitzes the A-gap like I described AND I use a defense that blitzes the C-gaps with OLBs.. and guess what!! I used the same formation for both..
Like I said I play online alot and I experience these nano blitzes all the time in madden they are not the football definition of nano its maddens definition and more than likely these blitzes are more than likely 100% effective every play..which is purely unrealistic. If these blitzes were 100% effective in the nfl why arent there any teams to do it? (and im not sayin you said it was)

First off awesome and intelligent out together video and explanation of the issue at hand

this is my question they say they do this to stop cheesers but 9 times out of 10 the people they look for cheats are noobs or young people that has been introduce to madden a couple of years ago. Everyone says "it's the same logic just different buttons and we will get used to it what's the big fuss". If that statement is true then adding these buttons is not going to stop nano blitzes cuz people will quote unquote learn quick and do the same scheme once we get over the learning curve. So when 4 or 5 months goes by we will have the same thing we been getting the last couple of years.

This is pure laziness at it's best if they say they did this to stop glitches and nano blitzing. You change something to make the process longer and hurt the people that knows football and likes to make multiple adjustments on the fly at the LOS. How bout fixing the engine and the awareness off offensive linemen to see if a man is rushing the A gaps to adjust. I mean i been reading people comments on this website since the demo came and people that are defending the change is not making a good point at all specially the ones that say this is a counter for online gaming. Overall my biggest beef with this is if NCAA team and Madden team bout work under the same company why couldn't they come together and agree upon a pre snap system so they can make the switch back and forth from the two games a easy switch?

I'm confused with your first paragraph.

You say it's just new people that nano, but yet it's allowed in tournaments from what I understand. To me, that is not all "noobs."

Let's wait and see where this blog goes in the next 3-5 days before proclaiming the sky is falling.

what im saying is you don't see most teenagers being in forums saying they want sim style gaming or complaining about nano blitzes it's usually the people that are long time madden heads. Also Lately majority of the tourneys i go to have strict defensive pre snap adjustment moves no cuz of the you tube nano glitches

Question? What happened to the Defensive Hot routes that were brought into madden 05, where you could assign corners and safety's individually? For example (PS2) you could press triangle, then the circle (for the reciever he is covering), then down on the right analog stick. That player would be playing bump and run and you could set your other corner to play off by performing up on the analog stick according to who he is covering. You could also shade the reciever's inside as well as outside. Why in the heck did that go away? Its still too much time to select your defensive backfield player before you can hot route him. I dont understand why EA is not building on technology that was present years ago.

I really hate the SP cuz I'm handicapped & can't really even hit the d-pad on PS3. Also it makes u have to hit an extra button & for me, my hands move a little slower than yall's.
