I have to agree, this part of the game has always been a pet-peeve of mine. Is it really so hard to have the players react to a goal in a way that makes them skate towards the goal scorers and celebrate as a team?

I know. Watch the goal celebrations in 2K3 or NHL'04. They're very realistic.
It boggles my mind why we can't see a basic group hug.

Obvious goal - puck goes straight sideways into the net. If it was above the crossbar puck would have travelled at a downward angle.
