Seriously, if he likes it, if he thinks it's exceptional, why try to bring him down?

Re: Madden NFL 11 Demo Available Now, Please Post Impressions Here

Safeties in Cover 2 take WAY too long to react to deep routes. They're usually still in their backpedal while the WR is running by them.

I think this is because locomotion actually works, but some of the logic is flawed. I've seen WRs running free all over the place.

If the Safeties didn't have to stop and plant, they would probably be in position to make a play, but with locomotion, there is a slight hesitation to gather and start sprinting.

I wonder if years of neglecting momentum has caught up here--can the old passing system work properly with the new locomotion?

Re: Madden NFL 11 Demo Available Now, Please Post Impressions Here

First let me say that I was pretty down on this game, in fact, I was convinced I wasn't going to buy it. Now, I am cautiously optimistic.

I just got done playing my first game. I noticed a marked improved over 10 immediately. I was the Colts. Gameflow seemed to be realistic in the plays it called for Indy. Lots of passes, and a few runs mixed in.

Just playing one game, I can't really get a read on whats good and whats bad. However in the ONE game I did play, I saw more good than bad. Not once in all my passing attempts did I see a psychic defender. (all-pro) It seemed like if a WR got open they earned it, and if a pass was defended the DB earned it. This is HUGE for me. I just hope it stays this way the more I play.

I thought the coverage on defense was improved from last year. Man and zone. I thought the presentation well done. The cut-scenes fit the situation.

I did see a little bit of warping, a little sliding, but overall much less than previous years.

One thing I noticed that I think could be an issue, is when your AI corner suddenly stops on a deep ball right before the ball gets there. That needs to be fixed.

So I will play some more tomorrow, or today i guess, and hopefully it keeps looking good. As of now, the game seems to do more good things than bad. Oh, and best part about it. It felt like football.

anyone with the ps3 version getting a lot of stuttering in the auto replays?

i had a sweet first game. won 15-9 with a sweet touch pass over the DB on a corner route for the winning TD. went for 2 just to rub it in. lol.

3 points for graphics, 1 point for the passable commentary, and a half point for the boxart. I can give no further points since the all over the place gameplay would ruin it anyway.

I like the new presentation and the animations look good. Gus sounds better than Hammond.

As others have said, strategy pad either sucks or will take getting used to.

I think the initial negative reaction is due to NCAA going from horrible to really good and Madden going from really good to better.

The demo is a Work in progress but M11 is not THAT bad...
I agree that this is probably why more people like NCAA's improvements compared to Madden's this year.

After playing the demo, I was really impressed with how smooth the game played compared to last year. I have to get used to the controls more, as past Maddens were more pick up and play, but the gameplay itself seems solid. The graphics look much more improved, and having Gus Johnson in the commentary booth is a big plus as well. I haven't gotten used to GameFlow enough, specifically GamePlanning, but I will say that with GameFlow, the coordinator commentary wasn't as bad as I expected; and after my small time with GamePlanning, I felt that it would be a highly used strategic feature for me when I get the full game. In conclusion, I think that it's not fair to say that Madden NFL 11 is the same game as Madden NFL 10. It plays different, and looks different, despite its similar overlays and stat banners to Madden NFL 10. I think that Madden NFL 11 will be a pretty solid game this year.

Re: Madden NFL 11 Demo Available Now, Please Post Impressions Here

I love it. Absolutely love it. Most of the minute details that bothered me about M10 seem to be fixed, and given that M10 already played a great game of pigskin, this seems like a winner.

One thing i have NEVER done in a madden game before, is instant replay. I played about 6 games, and i kept pausing the game to see stuff happen on instant replay. Of course there are some unrealistic things, but most of the time it's great.

Wayne and Revis have a real battle going there. I also love it how the Colts o-line manhandles the Jets' scrub RDE. Kris Jenkins is... Kris Jenkins. These things, especially ol/dl interactions seem to be much improved. Cant remember the last time i have played a game where i love to watch replays. Some of the interactions are fantastic.

And finally, maybe the greatest thing: The teams play like themselves. Hopefully this will be true with the full version with some of the more conservative teams, and not just with these all-pass and all-run teams.

All in all, the differences are pretty minor in stature, but make the game so great. Cant wait for the retail version to hit the shelf.

Re: Madden NFL 11 Demo Available Now, Please Post Impressions Here

First basic impressions are I don't like it.

Things I like are the catching seems better especially with sidelines.

Presentation is also better but I really hate pressing X a few times and then getting to the gameplay.

I will say though I'm never a fan of change, so I hate a lot of little things that are different for the sake of being different.

I don't like the new kick meter, don't like a lot of the new hud stuff like strategy pad, the markers that show where players are going without me even wanting to look at them first.

Locomotion feels pretty meh and not as responsive as I would have thought, it has nothing on FIFA or NCAA (based on the demo).
