what's with the insta-stop tackles? as soon as the guy comes into contact with the defender, he immediately stops all forward progress. and this particular defender came in from the side. that is just not possible. play starts at 0:50.

in all the vids i've watched of this game, this is definitely the standout negative. it gets more ridiculous the more i watch it. it's like the ball carrier just ran into an invisible brick wall.

I keep saying the same thing! It was like that last year and it doesn't look like much went into protak this year either. Probably because they know they have to get the real time physics worked in somehow because IMO give BB another year and that may be something special.

100% agree. There's no momentum taken into account at all and it's a big issue.
Once there is contact, its just a completely random animation that takes place, leading to tackles like these. There is also no intelligence in the tackles as well. For example, if your tackled right before the goal line, half the time the tackler pulls you over the line for a touchdown, rather than trying to pull you away from the line.

Also, for that tackle don't you think that the defender moved a bit fast towards the ball carrier to make the tackle as well? Seemed to me like he got a nice little speed boost to get to the tackle there..hmmm
