I don't know, just as none of you know that they are just adding this for some commercial moola. My point is that I'm applauding what appears to be an attempt to go to the next level in games which is player personality. That's something we've all wanted for years.

For Qb's , I guess it'll only matter when they throw TD passes or long bombs. They'll pose or do a gesture more. And Favre is always jumping up and down after every big play he makes.

I agree. I almost forgot about last year's Everything You See on Sunday.

Don't you feel that is part of their goal?

Huh, how about Favre the schoolboy after a TD pass, or having someone climb his back?

I very seldom share the same POV with ODogg concerning EAs' implementation of Madden features but here, I agree. His reasoning makes perfect sense for why they would dislplay the rating, IMO. That said, now back to the status quo on his next post. LOL

This thread shows that EA cant win due to its poor track record concerning past "steps in the right direction", IMO. If next-gen Madden had followed through with other good first steps, gamers would be much more optimistic about this one.

Gamers arent just looking for excuses to "take EA behind the virtual woodshed", they are just trying to avoid EA "bending them over a virtual barrel" again! LOL!

I'd much rather see EA use their time and resources to implement running/passing styles than a swagger/showboating rating. Swagger would be near the bottom of my priorities in order to individualize a players playing style/personality, but I'm not EA.
Again, i think EA is catering to the casual gamer who would appreciate and notice swagger/showboating much faster than they would a Quarterbacks drop-back/release and/or a running-backs running style/stance.

I think a personality type thing would be better suited being how each player had personality in NFL Head Coach. This had a big effect on contract negotiations and the like. While I could be wrong, I highly doubt swagger will do anything other than be for celebrations.

And like I said on the poll thread, I feel there are many far more important issues that the resources spent on the swagger rating should've been spent on.

Seeing how antoher game 6 years ago already had these ratings and did a good job with them, it wouldn't be that difficult. People are always going to disagree with ratigns. Players who are unknown, are goign to be UNKNOWN. Alex Smith was an 86OVR QB in Madden 07 in his second season while Frank Gore was only an 80. Tony Romo isn't a great QB, but he is good. In Madden 07 he is like a 77OVR or less in '07 as the backup to Drew Bledso and doesn't have much of a chance of starting for Dallas in that game seeign how he was already like a 3 year pro or something.

You won't get active players 100% correct, and that's why it is nice to be able to edit palyers before starting a franchise. What is really nice is how Hand Crafted rookies would be made. Josh Looman can make up who are great leaders and what not. A player like Teddy Bruschi could be a prime example of a career 88OVR player with like 95+ leadership, consistency, etc. These are supposed to be the intangibles that shouldn't go for or against an OVR rating.

Also, I wouldn't give Manning a 99 Leadership Rating, or anyone in the NFL except maybe Ray Lewis. Manning can be a great leader, but he also has his hissy fits and get frustrated and agry and stops beinga great leader. The Superbowl is only one recent example from his entire career. After settling for a FG on the prior drive, Mannign went back to the sideline, threw his helmet down and his towel and was all red faced and mad. Next drive he throws a pick 6 to lose the game. this is where maybe consistency/clutch would come in. Manning is clutch in the regular season, and has a nubmer of come back victories and he also is 9-9 in the post season with a lackluster TD/Int ratio. If you looked at his post season record like a regular season one, he would be an average QB. When you compare this to someone like Joe Montana who threw three interceptions against the Cowboys in the 81 championship game ans still kept his cool "Joe Cool" and scored the game winning TD, or Tom Brady who I have never seen lose his cool, even after throwing 5 picks agaisnt the Dolphins on a Monday night football game. He just kept plugging away and trying to lead his team.
