Yea I understand age and injuries take their toll, and it was pretty evident last season, but even going from allowing 15 sacks to 34 is significant, and that season didn't have near the injuries. I'm not saying Favre didn't sling up passes and I'm not saying Rodgers should start either. But he could throw the ball away and cut down on sacks and fumbles.

And I'm well aware most of Rodgers' sacks were probably caused by a lack of protection, but like many of the great 'ball holders of the NFL' (mainly Cassel, Rodgers, and Roethlisberger) they usually take at least one sack a game that they could have easily avoided. It's obviously impossible to know for sure, but I would bet that Peyton, Brees, or Brady behind that same line would have had 30 or less sacks last year.

It's Rodgers' playing style, and if the guy can take the beating and still perform at a high level and win games, then more power to him. It's just those pesky fumbles like in the playoffs last year that make you just want him to throw the ball away.

Just a note on Favre and his 29 pick season in 05... while blaming INTs on the O-line is about like blaming QBs for dropped passes, even if Favre had taken sacks instead of INTs he still would have only had 53 sacks. And it's not like Favre throws all his INTs trying to avoid sacks either; he just always is thinking "F it I'm goin' deep."

I'm glad to see Desean Jackson made the cut! Long Beach California! A few of my buddies got drafted this year although their rating is going to be somewhere around the 40's or 50's! Either way... I'm looking forward to it.

Rodgers fumble in the playoffs last is in no way shape or form his fault.

How is it "in no way shape or form his fault". He didn't release the ball in time, he was hit, he fumbled.

The OL didn't hold on to the ball, the OL didn't hit him, the OL didn't fumble it and if I remember correctly, the play that caused the fumble was a blitz, Rodgers failed to read the blitz and held the ball too long, ergo SACK/FUMBLE.

Rodgers is an excellent QB but the guy has his faults like every other QB and to pretend that isn't the case is delusional. If you know your OL sucks so bad, as you say, why hold the ball so long?

It's basic- if a piece of wood will break if you stand on it for more than 2 seconds, then don't stand on it for more than 2 seconds or it will break.

It is what it is.

Bad O-line or not they're not the ones holding onto the ball. The O-line didn't fumble, Rodgers did and that is what happened. The whole he has a terrible O-line so blame that on his fumbling problem is a pretty lame excuse. At the end of the day the ball protection is Rodgers responsibility whether the O-line is horrible or not.

Edit: People blame Peterson for his fumbles when clearly the defender is striping him of the ball and forcing it out but, people still blame Peterson. It's because, ball protection is his responsibility no matter how the fumble happens just like it is for QB.
