I will only comment to say that all these haters saying "I don't understand what they've been working on", etc, who are laughably threatening not to buy the game, WILL without a doubt, buy this game...just as they have every year before. Stop with all the pathetic threats, NO ONE cares. You're gonna buy it no matter, what, liars.

Re: Madden NFL 11 Video: Chargers vs. Colts Gameplay

I abhor the new kicking mechanism. Madden just took a 10 year step backwards in the kicking department. Instead of fixing it so the ratings actually matter, they put in a new bar based kicking. So much for mapping control mechanisms to the players actions. If they didn't have time to fix it right, then they should have just left it alone rather than wasting developer cycles building a new mechanism instead of simply fixing the one they had in the game.

but why are you surprised by this? They can't seem (or want) to get even the basic elements of the game correct. Everything is just always implemented poorly.. from the camera angles, to the replays, the stadium sounds, the cut scenes, statistics, half time show, announcers.. geez, i can seriously go on all day long, and I haven't even mentioned any gameplay issues.

For those who seriously love this game, and always defend EA.. tell me one aspect of this game that Tiburon has just nailed 100% or one area of this current Madden game that they have innovated or set the bar for other devs to follow?

LoL. That kicking meter is getting the business from OS. But yeah, it's pretty dumb to take that approach for video game kicking. We're supposed to be trying to get away from meters and visual aids like this & onto more physical based mechanics that let you get a feel for certain actions like this. A not so major but big & bizarre step back.

that is your example of innovation? would your opinion change if it was no longer free, and it cost extra? or if you buy a used copy and had to pay for online franchise?

no salary cap last year, you can sign whoever you want in FA with no problem, key stats not being tracked (i think it was yards per carry, completion % were the few i can think of now), no depth whatsoever and your saying the got it 100% right? did i miss the sarcasm b/c no one really even got into it because it was so bare bones.
