Re: NCAA Football 11 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here

One thing I noticed, I had one second left in the half and one timeout left. For some reason it wouldnt let me call timeout either by hitting the select button or going to the pause menu.

I guess I'm in the minority because it does feel like an improvement but I'm not overwhelmed or overly impressed. Not trying to hate, I feel like we're still at 80% of last gen. No doubt that this is better than 10 (at least the demo is).

I'll be waiting to buy this though. Every year at OS, the hype off the demo is just like this, everyone is pumped. Then Day 1, everyone is pumped and saying how great it is, talking about highlights, uploading videos. About a week in, people start to see the shine come off and then the huge glitches are talked about and the shortcomings and the game leaves most of us disappointed.

Its a good demo for sure, but until I see a good bit of solid feedback on the retail version, I'm tempering my enthusiasm.

Brilliant demo. Has the potential to become the football game with best gameplay IMO. Love how receivers and defenders actually fight for the ball, and the receivers has finally started turning their body to make the catch. The runblocking is also brilliant. But the thing i love the most is the qb movement in the pocket. If I see a outside blitz I can make my qb take to steps foward, and buy some time - that was almost impossible in NCAA10.

Another great thing is that going deep finally actaully works. Even if you dont get the completion the CPU starts playing less agressive in coverage after a deep throw.

Potential to become best football game ever

Played the demo last night. Color me impressed! Still need some work with the ol/dl interactions but its a huge jump from 10.. Dont like the replay angles as often as we get thme but I maybe able to actually play this game & finish a dynasty.

Thank you for a spinning ball EA... Finally...

That.

I recognize that it is a noticeable improvement, and by far, the closest to NCAA 06, that weve been...but there's still a noticeable amount of "same old" there as well, as you play more.

I think some of you simply dislike EA football and you simply have to accept that and move on. It's like me buying Gears of War every time a new one comes out and disliking it because it's improved but still Gears of War. I hate to say it but you might just have to give up entirely on the series. Because they can improve things every year and make the game better and better but it's still EA's version of football.

Re: NCAA Football 11 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here

Downloaded and played the demo on the PS3 last night:

  • Awesome graphics and animations...I am sure some of them will get old over time but they really look great.
  • O-Line blocking looks badass, saw a lineman getting out and around the corner last night.
  • The game slowed down after calling the play and trying to hurry to the line of scrimmage, probably just an effect of being a demo version.
  • The play calling screens will def. take a while to get used to but the option to go straight to the special teams or goal line menus is going to be great in tight games.

For being a demo and being this early I was very impressed and can't wait to see the final, hopefully, polished version of this game....really excited!

*EDIT*

For those of you that kept saying their Play of the Game was always the last play, I was shown a TD pass I threw in the first half as my play of the game.....so not really sure what is up with that.
