I'm trying to figure out exactly what EA is trying to sell in that trailer for Madden 11 - new cut-scenes? A Backbreaker camera?

Well, Backbreaker is 3rd person. This Madden trailer was in 1st person, completely different. There just making it seem like you're Drew Bress on the field as far as I can see. Nothing that was meant to represent what the game play could be or a sign of some new camera angle from what I saw.

The fanboys are out of the woodwork in full force today!

Just life or death for you guys. It's a trailer guys, like a movie preview. Yes, they are trying to sell you a game. It's not some evil ploy to trick you. Is the game going to be in first person? Of course not. Do you think the seamless video on cellphone in cellphone commercials is real? Of course not. I don't see people going batsh*t crazy over things like that.

It's a video game. Yes, they are still working on presentation for the kids. Makes it look nice. Yes, game play still needs some work but hopefully the AI is improved both on the field and off of it, and this new momentum works. Sounds like it feels pretty nice in NCAA. It's going to be the same in Madden.

Also, I'm not sure where people are seeing that they changed NOTHING about franchise mode. Yes, they said they focused on game play this year and there were no MAJOR changes to franchise. I didn't really think franchise was that broken to begin with. If they made the AI a bit smarter in off season, which they said they did, and the game play is improved, which it's supposed to be, then I'll happily play 5-10 years in a franchise before I hang it up for the season. You know, because it's a video game. A game. A game.

It's not going to be every 14 year olds wet dream, but it's sure as hell going to be a lot better than what we were playing even three years ago. Have fun with it. Use some imagination if you have to, and remember. It's a video game.

My sentiments exactly. No post closer to the truth than this one.

Thank you, gentlemen. This never ending examination of a game that's intended to just be fun, not change lives, had gotten old. I appreciate the props. Enjoy Madden 11, I'm sure I will.

I agree with the concept, but your a bit off my friend. You see this here is a sports gaming forums. Thats what we do here. If we didn't examine all of these games down to the last tiny detail, talk about bugs/glitches, and obsess over these games, then we wouldnt really have the need to come to this site would we? We could then just go to a regular site and complain about other things.

Madden itself, asks for all the drama it gets. They stir the pot. Its not like someone on this site uncovered something in regards to Franchise. They released a statement saying "we didn't make any franchise enhancements". While its true some people go overboard, sometimes the messages EA sends are very hard to read. You make a comment about the camera view in the trailer, the truth is you just never know. They released a half way completed online franchise last year and said they would be updating it as the year progressed, which they never did, and now, its reasonable to assume they would have at least added something to it this year, but they didn't, they are releasing a broken, incomplete, online franchise for a second year, and instead are doing a 3 vs 3 online feature. Who could have called that last October?

Your maturity is def to be commended and your rational, im not saying your wrong, but thats what we do here. If everyone posted just like you OS would be out of business pretty quickly. dissecting these games is what ppl do here, and they will continue to do it for every game not just madden

I hear you, and I don't completely disagree. I enjoy reading the criticism as well as the good. I just feel like Madden gets it about a 100 times worse than any other title. People hate on EA just because it's become envouge to do so. Give the game a chance, let's not all lose or heads after a demo trailer.
