Must read review if you're a sim gamer.
1. Nanos still exist. They can be pulled off the traditional way of blitzing up the a and/or b gaps. You can also manually position a player over the center/guard and then manually position a second blitzer near the outside tackle to defeat the offensive line pinch. Basically the offensive line is still lacking in artificial intelligence.
2. Zone coverage is VERY realistic. Superhuman plays in zone coverage are not common. You will still see them once in a while but overall it seems realistic.
3. Man coverage is poor on drags, slants, deep slants, in and out routes. Speed is everything with these routes. So yes speed is still the dominant attribute.
4. Locomotion has reduced suction but it has not eliminated it. So be prepared to be sucked into tackles. The good news is the suction is not as strong as a black hole so if a defensive player is 2-3 yards away from your ball carrier he will NOT be sucked in as in previous versions of EA's football games. However he will be sucked in WITHOUT actual contact if he is about 1/2- 3/4 yards away. EA has still failed to eliminate suction.
5. Man coverage is REALISTIC on deep routes. It is actually possible to complete passes deep. Receivers drop passes, corners and linebackers, yes that's right, linebackers get beat deep if they attempt to cover a faster wide receiver. So think twice before constantly calling a 5-2, 4-4, or 3-4 defense because you think your linebackers will still cover a wide receiver.
6. The CPU still cheats it's rear end off. They will call a perfect defense to counter the play you selected at the play call screen. To beat them it's the same as usual just audible and hot route like crazy.
7. The CPU gets an amazing pass rush with only 4 pass rushers sometimes with only 3 while human controlled teams can barely get any pass rush against the cpu controlled quarterback. I've even tried rushing 5 defensive players consistently and can't get a damn pass rush. I want a competitive game from the CPU but don't cheat by making my players poor at everything while the cpu seems to get human growth hormone and steroid shots in between plays making them superhuman pass rushers with only a 3 or 4 man rush.
8. Presentation is very good as in past versions of ncaa football. Great crowd noise as always, they feel like the 12th man on the field. Good touchdown celebrations as in past versions of ncaa football.
9. Locomotion still has not addressed the skating on ice problem. Players still move on the field in a very unnatural and unrealistic way. They move as if they are skating on ice. Locomotion surprisingly did not fix this problem.
10. The flats can still be abused. I don't know what to say about this but after all of their attempts to fix the flats I can still abuse the flats. It's too easy to abuse the flats when the defense is in man coverage.
11. Quarterbacks have so few ratings. It's basically 2 ratings for the quarterback, throw power and throw accuracy. That's all. No other ratings, not throw on the run, throw short accuracy, medium or deep accuracy.
12. Playbooks are very deep, plenty of formations and plays to choose from. You guys have to try Missouri's playbook they have a sick formation with offensive lineman lined next to the wideouts near the SIDELINE. That will be a fun formation to use.
13. The camera angle is not realistic on passing plays. It's impossible to see the entire field and all of your receivers at once in real life yet in this game you can. ??? Not very realistic. It makes for an easier game to play but it does not make the game realistic at all.
14. The game still has canned animations. The PS3 has a processor powerful enough for the U.S. military to use yet we are still stuck with canned animations in the year 2010. C'mon ncaa football programmers you guys can do better than this. NHL hockey will have physics so will NBA elite but not NCAA football?
Final thoughts. Although locomotion has been added it still has not eliminated suction everything, suction blocking, suction tackling, nor has it eliminated players skating around on the field. Also the turbo button is still present. Not sure why they left the turbo button in the game. I thought locomotion was supposed to eliminate the need for a turbo/sprint button.
So for $59.99 if you play online you will still have to deal with the cheats who nano. The offensive line can be easily exploited by manually repositioning players. Yes you can still take a defensive lineman and prior to the snap manually reposition him all the way over to the opposite side of the line and rush from there. If you're looking for a REALISTIC challenge, and I mean a challenge without cheating from the a.i. you're out of luck.
But... This game does have some fun offensive formations that gamers would enjoy. So ultimately this game is not a game you should purchase if you are into offline gaming, dynasty mode. The a.i. will cheat by causing your offensive lineman to perform very poorly in pass blocking and run blocking. Hopefully we will have sliders to address this problem. If you're into online gaming against another gamer beware that cheats and exploits found in previous versions still exist.
For $59.99 in a recession I'll pass on this game. Eliminate known exploits, eliminate money plays, yes there are the same old money plays in the game, eliminate suction, eliminate canned animations, and introduce a realistic camera angle that does not allow you to see the entire field and every receiver on pass plays. Sigh, It's the same as always, MAYBE NEXT YEAR?

I just wanted to say this is how you constructively criticize a game.
I agree with some of your points and disagree with others. I feel locomotion is a game changer. I just don't see the skating. Maybe I have gotten so used to it that i don't notice it anymore.
I think the suction has been reduced to a level that is acceptable. What i mean by this, is that it doesn't happen enough anymore to be a huge issue. Should it happen? Absolutely not.
I also disagree with you about the money plays. There may be a few, but no where near the amount in the past.
As far as nano's go, they don't affect me. I am strictly and offline dynasty player.
Also keep in mind that some of the issues in the demo
may be fixed.
Overall, from what I can tell in about 12 games, is that this game is far and away superior to NCAA 10. And easily the best football game on next gen consoles.
