Re: NCAA Football 11 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here

Just played a half and I really like it, but two questions:

1. How come UF's Combat White Helmets aren't in the demo? Are they in the game?

2.Is there a way to look at your full playbook? If not, is this play calling system only for the demo or is this how its gonna be in the retail version?

EDIT: Just answered Number 2 myself! Still would like to know Question 1.

Thanks.

Same as last year? Shenanigans.

Couple bugs I've found...

When playing as Texas against OU, there were 3 or 4 times when OU would run no huddle where my defensive linemen would get "stuck" in the neutral zone and eventually glitch into an offensive lineman. It was an animation as if they were running in place and then eventually they would move just enough to touch an o-lineman.

I just had one happen when playing as FSU against UF...scored on a long pass play, and then on the PAT, the camera was as if it was right behind the very far left blocker on the line for the PAT attempt. If it were a long field goal I was going for, I would have had no idea where I was aiming because I wasn't even behind the kick arrow.

Lastly, I've noticed that every game's "play of the game" is the very last play of the game, no matter what it was. I had one where an extra point was the play of the game in a 28-0 win...and then a draw play on 3rd and 16 that got two yards as time expired in a 21-0 win.

Edit: Also - the new run blocking is spectacular. Holes actually opening up where they should. Blockers actually pulling to where they should. It's been fantastic. I can see it becoming *too* successful, though.

Edit 2: Also something I noticed that I hope is fixed for the full version...when going into the depth charts inside the game, if you for instance scroll to a team's LT position and then hit the left trigger to go to the opponent's depth chart at that position, it starts you back over at the QB spot. This will end up being especially annoying in the game menus when trying to cycle through team's rosters if you have to start over at QB every time you go to a new team.

Really cool for you online guys how when you're scrambling all over the place like an idiot there's no passing icons. That's new, isn't it?

A few more games in, I gotta say, if you like 09 and 10, you're in for a real treat - game is kickass. If you didn't like those games, I don't know what to tell you ... I mean, it's still EA football. I've said it before, it seems like a lot of guys around here aren't even fans of this series; that's not just going to magically change out of nowhere, at least not for most of you.

Re: NCAA Football 11 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here

After a few games on Heisman:
-Robo QB is back, possibly. Depends on the sliders I suppose, but I've seen CPU QBs make ridiculous throws. They all seem very accurate in the pocket, out of the pocket, scrambling or being hit.

-Still seems to be a fairly large disparity between my players AI on defense and CPU defense. CPU DBs stick to my receivers like glue. My DBs seem to always give the CPU WRs too much cushion or get burnt or can't keep up. Then the CPU QB proceeds to pick me apart.

This was one of my main gripes about last years game. I felt it was near impossible for me to have a top defense without adjusting the sliders so much to weigh in my favor. Crap teams would still manage to make all the right throws at all the right times.

Guys, I know its been mentioned before. But using auto sprint really makes the game feel better in my opinion. It made me love the game even more!

Lemme guess, one play the CPU O-Line holds up nicely or a CPU DE beats your tackle which resulted in a sack, then you instantly went back to thinking the trench play is bad.

Re: NCAA Football 11 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here

I was looking up videos of gameplay on youtube and happened to come across this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bmTgOjXuKr8&hd=1

So far I am loving the demo and think it is a huge step in the right direction, but I thought real assignment ai was supposed to stop nano blitzing? Hopefully these things are only in the demo and are cleaned up in the full game. I know there are probably always going to be ways to cheat the game, but this seemed to be the same one that has been around for awhile now.
