Re: NCAA Football 11 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here

Got a couple games in...and just some thoughts. Gameplay is tighter. Doesn't feel so ridiculously fast like last year. But personal love the very slow gameplay option madden had last year. Do we know if these options will be in NCAA this year as far as game speed?

Presentation a big improvement, but again..no halftime show, no real post game show. Have not read all the new info about the game here, so if that stuff is in...would be great. That's the kind of presentation I am looking for.

Have to agree with some other posts..whoever on the team decided that really zoomed in replays of big plays was the way to go was WAY WRONG. When you see a replay, having that broadcast view of a play develop is really where it is at. You get no sense of that with all the replays being so zoomed. And for the half time stuff and longer replays of plays...getting that same cut off affect that madden had at launch.

Overall...its step forward, but need to see the final product in action to say if NCAA really took a step forward.

All ya gotta do is if they kick it to your right guy, you need to pull the other deep man over a little past you (or sometimes an upman back a little), go right, weave back left, and there should be an opening if you go right for a good return out to at least around the 35. Worked like this last year, but everything flipped.feelsgoodman (ret 1st KO for a TD usng this method in the demo using Clemson)
Thanks for the tip! But yeah I couldn't for the life of me run one back. Got close. I've ran more punts back for TD's though.

There's a game speed slider in the retail version. No half-time or post-game shows though.

I agree about the replay cameras. I thought they were just added in along with regular replay angles. I don't know if that's the case in the retail version but I doubt it. I'm really not much of a fan of the one they play when you get a passing TD where it starts off zoomed in on the QB. The other ones aren't too bad but I still want regular replay angles along with these ones, or an option at least.

dude that is SWEET! lol oh and THANKS cuz now I remember what I was wanting to post earlier- I can now get onside kicks! Not every time, now I know a way that can work lol and I don't think I had EVER gotten one on last year's. haha the last time I think I remember (vividly) being able to get them was 05...with penalties off by kicking it straight towards the sideline, going at most 3 yards lol

that UF asked the devs not to include the white helmet. LSU one should be in the final version. If I read Adam's response correctly.
Thanks for the link, that cleared everything up. Everyone kept telling me it's just a demo and would be in the game. Ha!

Re: NCAA Football 11 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here

Finally downloaded the game. Just played every game but the Texas OU (my bro had to play CoD)..
My first was UF FSU, and I picked my beloved Gators. Like all the other people say, the presentation was amazing. Would've been nice to see the spear thing though. Locomotion was just amazing with the Gator speedsters too. I tried to NCAA 10 it out and get it to the outside, and got stopped in my tracks. The CPU actually knows how to grind out tough yardage, and the robo qb is gone. I ended up winning a 3-0 slopfest.
Next was Clemson Mizzou, and I picked Missouri. As always, the Missouri offense was lethal and extremely fun to run. The bubble screens were nice, but I tried it a second time in a drive and the CPU blasted my WR. The new quads formation is also really cool. Won 14-10.
Finally was Da U vs tOSU. I picked Ohio State, and this was the best one by far. Instantly Miami showed their speed on defense and stopped my runningbacks. But then Saine got an 80+ TD Draw, and the locomotion made it look beautiful. This as the first time I ever ran a draw, and it resulted in a TD. Let's hope that this isn't a money play. As for Pryor, I was dancing around in the pocket like crazy and made big plays. I was never able to take off, but it was just awesome seeing how you can't just scramble up the middle anymore. I also won the game 14-10.

Positives:
Locomotion, presentation, great trench play, receivers and DBs actully PLAYING the ball, graphics, new plays
Negatives:
2 minute quarters

Anyone else feel like the pocket is MUCH better this year? I'm actually stepping up into it and really feeling it.

Re: NCAA Football 11 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here

I'm loving the game. It plays very well for an old build, so I have high hopes for the retail. It took me about a game and a half to get used to the changes, then I was off and running. I played each of the matchups once and had more and more fun each time. I wish the game speed slider was an option in the demo. I can't wait to play the game one notch slower. There are definitely some EA-football miscues, but the game is fun as hell.
