There are few players I would've picked over Toews to be the cover athlete.

well you can't put Richie on the cover as he's liable to blindside someone in preseason into paralysis, and a lot of people hate Pronger so that's out of the question too.

You do realize that Pronger was on the cover of NHL 2000?

Blaah I wanted Jordan Staal but that was a pipedream.. I thought it'd be Ryan Miller for sure.. they missed a grand oppurtunity to futher promote the game in the US..

If I can remember, Eric Lindros was on NHL99 so at least a Flyer has been on the cover. I don't like another Blackhawk on the cover, it's stupid that they picked a player from the same team again.

That line didn't even register with me because I already assumed Ultimate Team was what they were alluding to previously when a "mode borrowed from other games" (can't remember the exact phrasing) was mentioned recently.
Pretty big day altogether whether EA intended it or not.
