I can see the spiral during close-up replays, but not during gameplay. During gameplay the ball is just a brown rocket -- I don't see the white stripes spinning.

But whatever. It's a minor quibble at best. Locomotion is great and this might be the best NCAA we've played in years.

Re: NCAA Football 11 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here

I just downloaded it and played a game.

What the hell they took out Lee Corso on commentary?

And the new presentation wasn't really anything special, the replay angles are real nice, but other than that all I really saw was crowd shots after every other play which got kind of annoying.

I thought protak and gang tackling was supposed to be in like Madden 10, I didn't see a single instance of gang tackling and most of the tackle animations were exactly the same as last year from what I saw.

Pretty good, but after playing one game not quite sold yet.

In fact, over the past 3 years I've seen a ton of guys like you who go all manic over any glitch in the game. Suddenly, the game is broken and EA has grabbed you by the sack again. Honestly, guys who take this approach remind me of the middle school girls I coach in track. Any little hiccup and the world is suddenly ending. Understand what it is you're dealing with and the nature of how a demo works. Its like free a sample of beer: who cares if its not ice-cold yet....its still beer!

Theres so much I could say about this comment, but most likely lead me towards an infraction eventually. So, I'll just say your completely right, EA is not known to have glitches in there final build, they never let us down there

By the way, I'm sure the majority wouldnt touch that beer until it was ice cold.

To add to that, the replay frequency is high and that's always a good thing. The only problem is that it's all way too close up. If they had gone with broadcast distances, it would've been perfect. They were so close there, but they let artistic freedoms once again keep them from scoring the win. When will they learn... I mean, the closeness of the replays become a huge problem on certain plays, like when the ball is high in the air and going into the endzone. You wind up not even seeing any of the players, just the sky and the ball finally hitting the ground. What a bad judgement call.

I hate the fact that there are no pre-play camera shots. I also wish there were some tight above-waist post-play shots (broadcast style). I'll say that NCAA's post-play is better than Madden's mess though. Way better. Still, they really need to make some new post-play animations. They've just completely neglected this all generation and it really continues to hurt post-play.

The cut scenes as far as I've seen have no hideous black screens in-between like Madden's, so that's great. They move very quick and smooth. They did a really good job with the speed there.

The menus are sweet.

Overall, this is a good football game. I like the control feel. I can't say it's a 100% night and day difference with the feel, but the difference is considerable enough. I can really see the work they put into this game. Last year's game was such a piece of trash, it pales in comparison to this year's effort. Right now, it looks like a definite buy for me. Good job NCAA team, good job.

P.S. This is the best-looking football game I've seen released so far. I'm very impressed with the detail and the lighting.

P.P.S. The stadium sound is way too loud for a broadcast. Turning that down will be my first order of business after popping it in.
I'm glad they at least did put some broadcast angels inthe game on the replays. I had a play where I blitzed the CB and got a sack on the QB on his blindside and the replay looked amazing and very realistic. I do wish there were more angles like it though. A lot of the angels they put in are wayyy too zoomed in, especially on deep balls.

Maybe this could help fix the lead blocking problem? Perhaps by allowing the cpu to slow u up or down u'll stay in sync with the lead blocker? Just a thought
I am pretty sure all auto sprint does is make it where you don't have to hit sprint, but instead you hit top speed once you run X amount of yards. I have played with it on 50% of my games and theres no difference really.

I don't think it makes the game determine your speed, it just makes it like NHL 10 where you'll hit top speed by just running, you don't have to hit the trigger to hit top speed.

Im loving this demo and from what I can tell the final build will put this game over the top if they tell us at E3 that coaching changes is in.
