That's like 70% of us according to OS polls. I wouldn't take improving franchise lightly. I swear, if IR is still broken...

Never been a franchise guy I must admit. Can't remember the last time I even played one season. Playing the computer gets pretty boring to me. I'll play some rivalry games or I might get inspired to recreate a game that I just watched earlier that was amazing, but for the most part, if I am playing the comp it's in practice mode.

Having said that, if you are actually playing the games and not simming, how could you not want gameplay to be focused on first before anything else, even as a franchise guy? I'm not a franchise guy again, but like I said, unless you are simming, I can't see franchise being worthwhile if you aren't actually enjoying playing the games.

OS has definitely opened my eyes to the gameplay shortcomings of Madden but roster management, team finances, player development, "test driving" rookies, becoming attached to players has always been my thing.

Building up a team is always the funnest aspect of sports gaming for me. I do love to play the games, but it is almost secondary. When I play, I try to have balanced performances and play very sim like.

I can deal with the lack of upfield rush. I can deal with some AI issues, I usuallly ask Madden (Gameflow might make this extremely awesome for me) anyway.

However, replay value only comes into play when the franchise stuff works. If I wanted gameplay, I'd go play those that shall not be named, which are great on the field, but lacking in replay value.

So they finally admitted the blocking problems. so i guess next year they will address the recycled animations and give it a special name and sell it for $60 and call it new..

Though I get your point, like Sois said in greater detail, there is more to franchise than just gameplay. To me that statement about franchise not mattering if gameplay isnt right is a little bit of a smoke screen. There are alot of gamers who wouldnt mind if Madden 11 had gameplay like Madden 10 and just upgraded all the non-gameplay stuff for franchise. That's a little extreme for a balanced game but Im making a point.Gameplay being the most important element to a game goes without saying but that's not a good reason to improve other areas as well.

I will not buy into the "all the time had to be focused on gameplay" arguement either if NCAA Football 11 has all of Madden 11s' gameplay upgrades. If they spent time implementing the same gameplay upgrades and improved Dynasty,I will not understand why Madden 11 couldnt improve franchise.

All I got to say is that the bar for Madden has always been 2k5 up until now, but the new "Other Game" with it's flaws has raised the bar very high. Also, it used to be NCAA was the little sister to Madden, but they seem to be passing Madden also as far as new and fresh. If half of the nitches in the "Other Game" are tweaked or fixed, there is going to be problems. The days of Madden taken "Baby Steps" and trying to pass such stuff off as new has reached the cliff.

Remember how Live used to be "The" game, but allowed another game developer to swoop in and take their crown.

As good as Fifa is, PES is on their heels.

It seems that gamers are no longer interested in "Inclusion" but "Innovation in sports games.
