Re: NBA Elite?

David Littman is the Creative Director for Elite 11(that sounds so damn awkward). Has this been known? He's done a great job as part of the NHL series, so bringing him on is certainly a plus IMO.

I hate when guys say stuff like this, it bothers the hell out of me. I'm sure the guy wants to improve the game but there are some things you need to just not say.

This is not a good thing in any real bball fan's mind b/c they know that kind of stuff doesn't happen, especially in the middle of a real game.

Love this new of the new name and physics engine. It's something I have been asking for years. Can't wait to see actually dunk collisions.

Lightbulb Hold Your Horses People!

In my humble opinion, people have been slamming the NBA live series for six years. Everyone has been asking for change, and talking about how poorly the game was done for so long. Now that the game is actually going in a totally different direction, and making some major changes, I think it should be a welcomed shift. If the new "Elite 11" team has incorporated physics into a game similar to euphoria, it would be spectacular. I noticed that someone mentioned that they try to sell breaking animations every year, but even Live 10 was plagued with tons of animations that drove me insane. If you look at some of the things that were done in Backbreaker, the physics system that euphoria has supplied in a game makes for some spectacular plays.

I'm not familiar with what type of real-time physics EA is using but anything would be better than that animation based mess 2K has right now. I'm not saying that 2K is a bad game, but it has always suffered from being heavy on animations and lacking control. I actually think 2K's features are second to none, and along with their online leagues, EA has a long way to go to catch up in those departments. The NBA live development team made some major strides when they implemented foot planting and the dribble stick. I read comments on here all the time from people who are saying that they want more control. Now, you're getting more control and personally, I think that any control is better than no control at all. Besides, most of everything that's being said about the game at this point is all speculation.

I'm looking forward to some of the changes they've made because I think it's good that someone is finally digging into the next GEN technology that's available on the newer systems. With the release of Backbreaker, and the introduction of real-time physics in Elite and NHL, we're finally moving into some new and unique gaming experiences. My advice to everyone would be to just sit back and wait. I think both titles are making major strides this year and competition is definitely on. With 2K making a push to get Michael Jordan on the cover along with possibly adding the throwback teams, and Elite 11 introducing real-time physics it sounds like next year's basketball gaming is going to be a really good year. Buckle your seatbelts OS gamers, looks like we'll be in for a wild ride in 2011...
