Well new faceoff mechanism that's definitely a plus. New dekeing? Interesting, wonder what that could mean.. perhaps better rating system so not every player can deke almost flawlessly?

I am really hoping only the stars have the a good dekeing ability.

It seems to quite obviously be a new deking mechanic.

one of the devs offhandedly mentioned that loose puck deking was, in its current state, pretty useless. So I fully expect that to be overhauled

Same with me. The fact that everyone and their grandmother could deke like champs in earlier games kinda iffed me.
