The camera is definitely limiting and not for everyone (preference).
It's supposed to be limiting that is why they did it. It was done to add more difficulty and to give the user a different look at football. It's been done in other games as well as far as limiting the camera view. Yet not have been as vehemently obsessed about.

Re: Backbreaker Demo Available, Post Your Impressions Here

When i first heard of this game i must admit i thought it was going to be lame, yeah i hoped i would be wrong. After playing it im 50/50 on the game.

Passing: i did this over and over and over just to make sure it wasn't me who sucked. Then i got good at it but i still felt like either the cpu sucks on defense or i kept getting lucky.
i know there trying to capture a realistic feel but I at only 5,9 would have better QB vision than wtf they give you in back-breaker.Nobody liked the mechanic of switching focus from one receiver to another in madden when they had it and its defiantly not going to work in this game, Adding the old madden Nintendo wr spotlight screens at the top might be helpful. You most likely have to fully trust your receivers on catching meaning no last second changes to save a ball.

Running: I still need to play this a bit more but immediately i feel as if the running back has no weight and goes down as easily as the chic from Freddy got fingered. For a game that supposed to be the next thing on animations and physic's The juke move is terribly stiff it's hard to believe the developers really thought the juke move was a good animations, the running game period feels dated.The running backs go down so easily im not sure if there are actual 2v1 3v1 tackles in the game{correct me if im wrong, i think i might be }

Defense:i wont lie to you the cpu did all the work. There something special about crashing through the line pushing it back and grabbing just enough of the qb to get him down.<<

as playing my favorite pos the middle linebacker if a receiver went behind me there no way of knowing how far he went. if there going to make the game like this there should be at least a indicator to tell you whats going on in case you need to switch. the offensive line men seem not to pick you up at all when you come off in the gap between them and wr, the qb attempts to step up when you charge in for the sack but its only to meet the defensive line men. this could be easily exploited online hope it gets fixed.

all in all if the fix or ditch the camera angle this could be a decent game. I don't know maybe its me but i really don't feel as if i have a big of a impact on the way the game goes as i should. they also failed for making this a single player demo. the core football mechanics of the game are really dated even compared to madden a game that hasn't really changed itself in 5-6 years

Graphics: there ok not much detail in anything there just smooth but video games haven't had the jaggy problem for awhile being smooth doesn't cut it and the blur affect is annoying this is not a racing game.they have to highlight certain things so you can see but it also takes away the realism to the game and makes it feel like ghost recon

I've never played a game that constantly blurred like BackBreaker is doing. I have something called keratoconus, which is the deterioration of the cornea.

The cornea is the hard/rigid lense in your eye that goes over the retina. Mine are so thin that they bubble up easily with excessive eye strain. Any time your eyes are focusing, your eye muscles are being used. When you squint, you are using your eye muscles to cause the cornea to bend so you can see further.

My cornea is so thin, especially on the right eye which is far worse than the left, that it will wobble back and forth when it can't focus on something. Because it is so thin, it actually bubbles up like the following image (though definitely not 'as bad' as the example below):

Needless to say that playing BackBreaker caused my eyes to go all twitchy on me, and the cornea to wobble a lot, causing the muscles to work like crazy trying to get things in focus and causing the headache.

I hope they provide some type of option to turn that blurring off. I've messaged their community manager on twitter, but no response from him. I'd buy the game, but won't now, as there's just no way I can play it unless perhaps I run out of bounds on every play?
That sucks. Hope they can do something about this for people with your condition.

I know it is by design. But its not necessarily the most realistic thing in the world either..

I just played a bunch of matches of Spartans vs. Talons (ME) and there have only been a couple interceptions and a few sacks after 5 games. Seems like I'm playing a totally different game than before. Some other people should try out this matchup and see if they get the same results. All these have been really competitive splitting wins. Which is weird, because I usually dominate.

Re: Backbreaker Demo Available, Post Your Impressions Here

Well , after playing the demo all weekend my thoughts have changed a bit. I still like the game, and I applaud NM for trying something different. That said I don't think I'll be buying Backbreaker. I just can't get used to the camera angle. Yeah I know it's for realism but it just doesn't work for me. I don't always want to throw to the highlighted WR and there is not enough time to look at the others. In my case you can't teach an old dog new tricks. I've been playing video game football since the Sega Master system and I'm not adjusting well to change. Hopefully it won't take another 3 years for BB 2 , and hopefully BB 2 will have a traditional camera angle. I think I'm going to pass on football games this year. I just picked up NHL2k10 for the 360 and today I'm going to spend my BB money on The Show 10 for the PS3, those games will feed my sports gaming appetite for the year.

I keep seeing reports of the gameplay changing significantly. I can't help but think maybe when they cut out features of the demo, they broke the 'player form' feature and it's random now. Sometimes their form is good, sometimes it's bad resulting in crazy *** AI results.

if possible, I think you should rent the full game....there might be other stuff in there you might like...

imo, this demo isn't really a good representation of the game...mainly because of it being only 2mins...
