Funny that you claim that being able to easily blitz isn't fun but in this game where it's easy to blitz it's not an issue.

I Tried the Backbreaker demo, and well it's been since deleted.

The one positive is running the ball, that just feels right.

That's not what Backbreaker is, sorry.
Then you aren't really understanding what you are hearing. I don't want Madden, I want to be able to switch on defense and have at least a remote chance to make a tackle, the camera as it is, especially on defense, sucks at this. U switch and almost immediately you run right past the ball carrier. It's a total clusterf*&#. Passing just isn't intuitive, there needs to be an option to elevate and zoom out. As Ron Burgundy would say, "it's science".

I havent played the demo yet because i'd decided to but it a long time ago and have reserved my copy.

After reading the numerous impressions..we should all remember that this demo is dumbed down, and only has a fraction of the full content.. while some of the 6 teams may seem like cupcakes, the game ships with 60 teams, all with different strengths and weaknesses. Creating your own teams was the selling point for me.

As far as playing defense, it works best if you stick with one player. If you want to switch, as soon as you see the QB throw a pass that's not towards you is the best time.

One thing bothered me was after the play was over a lot of the guys would just fall over guys on the ground so the detection is good but the players should be able to not walk over a guy that's down.

Has anyone tested the AI by setting up a CPU vs. CPU game?

That is quite possibly the worst logic I have seen yet in the BB forums, and that's saying something. It's almost as good as claiming the camera angle is somehow more realistic.

I don't get how people think having options is a bad thing. While I like the game and what the devs are trying to do, I am not going to suspend logic in order to defend their decisions.
