"The BBFL contains the best teams in Backbreaker. In all there are 32 BBFL teams, 4 of which are represented in the demo. All these teams should be able to hold their own against the UPFL teams relatively easily - when playing with them, bear the following in mind:

Indianapolis Spartans
---------------------
The Spartans are a tough team to beat. Taking them down requires containing their offense - easier said than done. Those trying to break through their O-line by Blitzing are often forced to rethink things pretty quickly. Getting through to sack Reed Wagoner at Quarterback is easier said than done.

Strengths:
Awesome offense. Even though McPherson is said to be somewhat slow at WR - the Spartans have enough options in their receiver corps to spread the ball around. Once a defense has been weakened, they often strike a killing blow with their star Tight End, Stone Lara.

Weaknesses:
It's hard to find any, which is why they are currently sitting pretty near the top of the BBFL. Their Defense isn't the best in the league, but it won't help most teams that come up against these guys. You need to bring your A-Game against the boys from Indiana.

They said it clearly - Indy should be able to wipe any team from the UPFL. If not then this should be considered a valid concern. This was from the demo guide written by the dev team! At no point did they say, "Oh by the way the AI might have issues due to an early build or memory restrictions." No, they said Indy kicks balls and should cream the lower teams.

The two UPFL teams are Charleston and Columbia, so I'm off to play these guys against the Spartans and will report back with several games of stats later.
Where does it say Wagoner is a good QB? I mustve missed it.

It doesn't directly state it, but when he says he is tough to sack you could infer part of the reason other than a strong o-line is because he makes quick reads and gets rid of the ball quickly. Sounds almost like Peyton Manning to me at least in that regard.

Not to mention even if he isn't great his wr should still be tearing the db's on the poorer teams a new one and there should be open receivers.

The CPU is a little more rational on the "hard" setting.

Still, I see that hurry up and lack of fatigue as a possible online cheesefest waiting to happen. I was hoping a game like this with such realism could put to bed that type of play.

Get your audibles ready...

Any word on if they plan to restrict customized teams in terms of skill?

No official word although I swear I remember the devs mentioning something about online balancing..like restricting a certain amount of 'gold' players.
I have to find where I heard that, though.

The demo was better than I expected it to be. I can't wait to play the full game. (Not to mention I'm in it )

June 1st can't get here any sooner!

It doesn't but it does say they have NO WEAKNESSES and they have an AWESOME OFFENSE. This would lead me to conclude the QB is at worst average and competent. Meanwhile it does state the OL and receivers are good.

Hey man, in APF you don't want to go against two gold WR's and a silver TE, even if Bernie Kosar is at QB.

The offensive line is in the 90's in both focus and strength. What their individual blocking ratings (if there are any) might be different.

Wagoner has 94 focus and 81 strength. If strength ties in with throwing power his arm strength isnt good. Check out his backup though, Armstead. Hes just as good as Wagoner.

But as Swaldo said since his receivers and tight end are good they should be dominating the two weaker teams secondaries. Even an average qb can look great if that is the case.
