Re: Backbreaker Video: Passing Game

Based on the way the ball comes out the the quarterbacks hand on some of the passes, it looks like after touch happens before the ball leaves his hand. It comes out awkward and does not quite match the arm motion of the quarterback when after touch is used, that's my guess. It looks very similar to how 2k looked when using the total control passing feature.

Yeah, I tried to tell you guys what it was like in my previous post. It's called "after-touch" because it happens after you push the stick forward to throw. I would assume it would work a lot more fluidly than most are thinking, something along the lines of pushing the stick up, and then immediately pushing it to the direction of the player's body you want to throw it to. Let's not forget these guys are from Oxford, so they are not stupid.

Maybe they got Myron Rolle to help them with the game. LOL

Well, if you got to IGN's website and find the section for Backbreaker videos, there is one video that is pure gameplay from the defensive side of things. It shows a couple videos of linebackers rushing the QB and a couple more where the linebackers follows the running back to tackle him for a loss, and there are even a couple plays of the person dropping back into coverage. I would suggest going over there if you are curious how the game looks while being played on defense, but as for a video showcasing the controls and such, that hasn't been released yet. I certainly would anticipate something like that this Friday, as that seems to be NM's trend for releasing these videos.

But to offer something to that comment, the defensive side of the ball looks like the most fun in the game. Trying to be a middle linebacker and read the QB's eyes and play coverage looks incredible, as does laying the smackdown on an unsuspecting running back who didn't even see you coming. Check out the video if you don't know what I'm saying.

Re: Backbreaker Video: Passing Game

^^What does the escape button do on defense, it seems to only appear when the dlineman is engaged, could that be a rookie mode thing, I was under the assumption that all moves, even on defense are done with the right stick. Defense should be fun, I see myself getting burned a lot going for the pick.
