I have thought that previous years took the cake for gullibility, but this thread is taking the cake on that angle. I feel like I'm watching Groundhog Day or something...."Phil?!?!? Phil Connors?!?!?! It's me...NED RYERSON!!!"

I'm just waiting for the circle to become complete - first impressions and screens = drool-fest and online kleenex time, first video (usually later called 'pre-alpha' or 'VERY early') = seppeku time and despair, EA releases more hype videos and interviews promising more depth, total overhauls of this and total ground up rewrites of that, blah blah blah, the cattle on these boards resume slobbering and making asinine statements of 'maybe THIS IS THE YEAR', and everyone knows the rest of the cycle by now...

If EA gets 95% of everything correct, that remaining 5% will be 'game killers' for almost everyone who is now slobbering on themselves; by August, the hate and 'we were so lied to' and 'i am never buying another EA game EVAH!' threads will reappear...

If people can get past their "WOW THATS A LOW PRICE" reactions long enough to objectively look at those vids they will see what is REALLY there - players still move in jerky ways and start their movement animations in completely wrong ways, blocking is still dicey and in my eyes is going to be wide open to exploits and glitches because EA's track record for adding new features to their games is nearly 100% totally FUBAR in year one...

Enjoy the Kool Aid gents, I am not drinking it any longer. If EA 'wows' me with a great game, then I promise to return to slobber all over it and give the dev-team and EA marketing some big wet e-love....but until then, consider me completely unmoved by the hype train...seen this pattern all too often in the last 5 years to believe it even a little bit.
It's fine you have these feelings. However you claim you are done etc.. so PLEASE don't do the "I"m done but continue to post and post whats wrong" pattern.

In any case, take care.

Re: NCAA Football 11 Hands-On Preview

How can you say this game has not changed at all? I just don't see how thats possible unless its your duty to hate EA Sports and their games. I wasn't too big a fan of NCAA 10 and often bashed the dev team when they were here, but even i can tell NCAA 11 has made huge strides.

The locomotion looks beautiful. Having them implement that is big for gameplay guys like me. Judging from the little live gameplay we've seen, the game looks great. The players were cutting, not turning on a dime, getting out of position and not being able to recover, etc.

Add in the other stuff they've added like authentic entrances, ESPN presentation, authentic play styles, and tons of new equipment. This game looks to be the best NCAA game in my opinion.

because the people writing the previews are really writing a review of the game that they got to play so it really is a review of the version of the game that they've played. Thats why people say review even though they mean preview.

I hope it is, there is nothing better than seeing our boys run out under that banner! Gives me goose bumps just thinking about it! Can't wait for the game and the "real" season to start!

If the video wasn't supposed to be sent out, why don't they put out a new video to do the game justice for all of us who saw that and said "WTF!"

there have been videos where we can see actual gameplay and not replay highlights.

Re: NCAA Football 11 Hands-On Preview

Things are looking up for NCAA 11 but I'm hoping for good halftime analysis and I'm praying that the custom sounds are expanded a bit. I hope that you can have several sounds for one events and the songs will be played randomly. Hearing the same song over and over again at kickoff is a killjoy. Moreover I hope there's a noticeable difference in intensity when playing a rival vs let's say playing a conference doormat. I do believe Alabama vs. Tennessee should have a different intensity than let's say Tennessee vs. Mississippi State or Vandy. Can someone get started naming the players now???
