NCAA Football 11 Hands-On Preview (Destructoid)

Destructoid has posted their hands-on preview of NCAA Football 11.

Quote:
"As far as I could tell in about thirty to forty minutes spent watching and playing NCAA Football 11, the game looks and plays nothing like its predecessors. Immediately noticeable is the stark difference in the visuals: it’s not that the graphics have been “tightened up” a whole bunch, but that the new lighting system goes a long way toward creating a more authentic look that’s still somewhat stylized -- you might call it “hyper-realistic.” To be sure, player models do look better this year, which is mostly thanks to much better-looking (that is, less plastic-looking) skin. But the focus in NCAAF 11 is on the presentation.

NCAAF 11 steps onto the field with a fully realized ESPN presentation. Tiburon went to the sports giant and obtained their latest broadcast graphics, so what you will see in the game will be the same as what you’ll see on TV during Saturdays this fall. It’s not just about in-game statistical overlays, though; NCAAF 11 even includes 3D animated screen transitions. The final piece of the puzzle is the “Monolith,” the pre-game matchup graphic with the College Football shield logo -- a setup that’s replete with ESPN’s college football theme music."

Nice preview. Things are looking good for NCAA 11 this year.

If there is a theme to these previews that are starting to come out it's only talking(for the most part) about features that have been announced by ea. Are they still not allowed to talk about things that haven't been "officially" announced? I'm holding out hope for a few more things ie. team entrances, coaches/coordinators, coaching carousel etc.

Another positive hands-on preview. Starting to look forward to this game more than Madden 11 and I'm not big on college football.

That is definitely the case. The reviewers are specifically told that they can only discuss features that have been officially released.

Thanks. That's what I was hoping and after reading the OS preview I got that answer. I'm excited to hear what else they have planned!

They really shouldn't be allowed to release articles this early. This and the OS one got me so excited and ready for this game, and then I realized we are still in April, which then made me sad

Just think of it as they have announced all of this great stuff pre may with lots of time to announce more. I have a feeling that we are going to be kept excited right to release.
