I never said it was relevant. I was just answering your question of who would know about gameplay and I gave you a definitive answer. smh

But I'm with the folks that say leave the graphics alone. I know, I know, different folks work on different aspects of the game. Well, reassign the art folks to gameplay and KIM.

The 11 screenshot obviously looks better. Great strides on the textures in 11 with respect to the jersey. Looks much more like fabric in 11. Skin looks more realistic as well.

Just a guess, but I would say that the polygon count for the player models has been upped as well.

All of this is fine and well, but for me, where Madden's graphics are most lacking is with the player models themselves. This has been a weakness, not just of Madden, but of most EA Sports games, for as long as they have been making them. Doesn't matter if the team changes either, the player models have always been too skinny and had heads that were a little too large. Marionette limbs as well.

When they address that, then we will have something. Until then, no matter how much tweaking they do, the players will just look like photo-realistic caricatures.

I suppose most people aren't aware that Flak-Jackets haven't been in Madden on Next-Gen. Some may not even know what a Flak-Jacket is. For those unaware, "Flak-Jackets" are a piece of equipment most QB's in the league wear to protect themselves from the blows they take. The padding is a bit above the waist, and gives the QB a "bigger" look.

So stop complaining about the size of the players. The QB's would look fine if they had the Flak-Jackets in the game. I believe it's something they're looking to get into this years game, since they didn't have time to get it in last years.

Madden's player model issues have absolutely nothing to do with a lack of a flak jacket. The player models across the board are off and always have been.

Rendering 22 players in high resolution takes up more resources than 10 players. That's part of why SCEA is capable of putting out a beautiful game year in and year out. They have the extra space to work with, unlike Madden.

Ever notice the dull sidelines in Madden? That's because almost all of the resources are poured onto the field, giving Madden a great graphical look. If you've played APF, you can see the hit graphics take when rendering more than 22 interactive player models at one time. APF has interactive sidelines, which is awesome. But the graphics are far from stellar. In a thread a long time ago, I recall Ian posing a question to the community asking if they'd be willing to give up a little on graphics, to gain in other areas. I will attempt to find the thread for you guys.

If EA wasn't going to be put at risk by consumers for losing graphical value in Madden, then they would be able to do a lot more with the game.
I understand your point but to compare APF is totally unfair. The game was a budget title that did not have all of the resources allotted to it that it would have had if it were an NFL Licensed game. They knew that the market for the type of game that they were allowed to make would not be anywhere near as large as their NFL 2k market.

Second, that game came out 3yrs ago. You are basically talking about a launch title. There is no telling what they could do if they actually tried to make a game that could compete with Madden on even terms. Especially considering that a lot of their time on the first game was spent on making a next gen engine. Just look at the difference between Madden 06 and Madden 10 or 11 even.

Come on now.

2K has always been better at Madden to bringing a true Broadcast feel. I would really like it if Madden did the same and It sounds like they are. Werent some of 2K's people joining the M11 team?
