I just booted up the game as was prompted to install the new patch. This is 9:18am Eastern time. Patch is 343 MB.

Well this is pretty cool news. Maybe I'll dip my feet in Franchise mode then and see what happens. I was a little weary to do so, since I didn't want to invest so much time in a glitchy mode.
