Yeah the SNES roster is a ton more balanced than the NES one.

There are some really good players in this game but nobody who is unstoppable like Bo Jackson or Lawrence Taylor.

I never played the Genesis versions until well after the fact, but I thought they sucked compared to the SNES games.

Good to hear. I didn't play the SNES much. Apparently they are different. I thought the Genesis version sucked too in comparison to the NES.

They seemed to suck out all the crazy plays which made Tecmo great. It boiled down to a much less exciting game overall. Big play potential in the run game wasn't there. You couldn't zig-zag for big scores. It felt different.

Oddly enough this is my road through Tecmo:

1. Tecmo Bowl (NES)
2. Tecmo Super Bowl (Genesis)
3A. Tecmo Super Bowl 3 (Genesis)
3B. Tecmo Super Bowl (NES)

Basically, I learned that the NES version had better gameplay than the Genesis version.

Just a heads up, guys -

I was just playing the old SNES version to check a few things, and the Nose Tackle dive ***** move is still alive and well in that game. I hope they've been able to do something about that play because if not, online is going to be limited to just playing against friends that you can trust not to do that move.

Yeah the nose tackle dive glitch has been around in every version of the game I've played.

It's one of those "house rules" you just have to enforce when playing against friends.

So the Cowboys will be pretty awsome with triplets right?

The weird thing is that many teams had switched back to the 4-3, so it didn't make sense to only have the 3-4. Easier to program that way I guess.

The Genesis version was WAY too easy for some reason. Easier than normal. Maybe it was just me, but I'd rack up some pretty ridiculous scores in that one. The only thing I liked about the Genesis version was the music. I still play it sometimes just for that, lol.
