But before you get your panties all up in a bunch, had you been reading this thread from the start, you'd see I was one of the people who immediately pointed out how much 2K has improved this game, and how I will be buying two baseball games this year.

I'll tell you what I find ridiculous... the fact that we can't really enjoy the demo but still point out some of it's flaws without being jumped on.
while I make no excuse and dont really car about cardboard people in the upper deck if its for the sake of frame rate. you might want to blame the power of the lowest capable system they are making the game on for that. I can explain why some may see jaggies and others do not.

Jaggies are not always due to the game or game system. You television itself and its processing of signals is can be entirely the cause of those nasty jagggies. The reasons are fairly complex but you can scour avsforums if you need to know more

Yeah, I noticed this, too. And doesn't sort of contradict what the producers were saying about how timing was going to be the main influence on directing hits? ('Contradict might be too strong of a word.)

I'm not clear on exactly what kind of influence the LS has. My understanding is that it can help influence how strong the hits are. So the timing is going to have the biggest influence, but if you use the LS to try to pull an outside pitch, it's lessen the force you can put on the ball. But if you correctly go the other way, it could strengthen the force you put on the ball in allow you to hit a HR or drive the ball into the gap.

So the primary variable is still timing, but the LS can influence what happens.

That said, this is completely undocumented, and is based on how think it should work. I'd love to hear the devs get into more detail about the hit system and LS.

In addition, I'd like to know what the real effects that the batter's eye has on the game. I think it is curious that it is off by default. Does it provide extra help, or is it a feature than can make the game tougher. I really have no idea. Either way, I like the batter's eye as it was implemented in 2K8, and I hope we can get that back.

I dont know WHY 2K had to mess with the batting stances for, they had Derek Jeter and Texiera's down pat in year's past and they tweaked them a bit now they look off. Amazing that they touch the things that they are actually great at.

And like others have mentioned, waytoo many hits to center field.

In the 2nd round of questions to the developers (post demo) a couple of issues with hitting were brought up and he never mentioned the LS. The type of hit is dependent on the type of swing and location of the pitch.

I always thought the LS was influential in determining the direction of the hit and the type of swing.
There's a screen shot here on OS that Steve put up that shows the controller layout as the Left stick being used to aim your hitting.

Here's the image...

The LS influence appears to work as designed in trying to produce a certain type of hit or get the ball to a certain side of the field etc. Sometimes I feel it has too much weight by taking precedence over pitch type, location and timing in determining the type of hit. Imo pitch type, location and timing should have the most weight in determining the hit. If by chance your influence coincides with the 3 your desired result would occur.

I agree. And I still like your calibrations too for my V5100, did you DL the new firmware yet? And I agree about the frame rate too. As long as the game is running smooth. I still have some problems with the animation and I not digging the hitting this year, but it is better than last year.
