From the menu pics it looks like you can turn off ball trail and dynamic ball indicator but didnt see anything for pitching bells and whistles graphics. I'd like those off also but don't see it?

More power to you guys who have decided to buy it based on the demo. I'm still gunshy. Looks good, plays and feels pretty well, but I've gotten burned too often. I'll have to rent it first and then read up on the boards.

Looks like a great improvement, but I can't bring msyelf to blindly buy it.

Hitting is so-so for me. Sometimes i hit, sometimes i dont. The one aspect of this game that is really giving me trouble is stealing bases. I just can't seem to grasp the timing for my life.

Agreed. This is what the development team had in mind when it created gesture pitching with 2K8. Now, the mechanic is "final" -- and it's terrific.
