I have been interested in BB ever since the first highlight vid came out. I am still going to buy Madden 11 regardless of how BB does. I still can't believe this game is only like 3 months away from release and this game is 50 bucks(I know Its only 10 dollars but, it matters). I loved this vid though it looked very well done, the RB reaching, gang tackles, the mid air collisions is something I'm going to look forward to seeing. I think I'll enjoy defense more than offense just because, the hits in this game...words just don't do justice in explaining how great they look.

I'm still a bit worried about wrap tackles though, I know this is just the highlight vids that madden pulls on us every year to pump up the hype machine before the real gameplay vids go viral. Does anyone know if the Devs have metioned that big hits don't happen 24/7? I'm wanna believe they don't but, the hits are so spectacular that I'm getting a bit worried. To many big hits isn't going to be a make or break because, madden there's a big hit at least once every series. At least the tackles will be different every time even if there are constantly big hits.
You know what I would guess? That if you're moving slowly (ie taking a bad angle and having to adjust, or only moving latteraly and basically 'catching' the runner) you will see non-big-hit tackles. The tackles are based on weight/momentum/speed etc...so someone tackling moving slowly might result in a more flakey tackle.

Yeah thats what I'm thinking because, Its all physics based so I was going to hold that question until the gameplay vids came out but, since were kinda close to the game being launched I couldn't hold it in. I figured someone might know something by now.

I know the first game will have its problems like every game but, I think this game will be really solid. The running backs still look a bit stiff and the QB throwing motion could be much better but, I don't care as long as Its fun and fundamentally good football. I'm more excited about this game than madden because, i just want something different. I also like that statement about how It will be hard for people to go back to canned animations. I hope there right and there game takes off but, I know It won't out beat madden purely because, of the license.

Just now watching this video and all I can say is WOW. This is looking very impressive. I'm getting really amped up to play this now. I still want to see some gameplay footage, but I saw a few more things in this video that I haven't seen in others.

if this game plays well, Madden is toast..and its their own fault....or maybe EA will make a good next-gen football game for once.. the consumer may finally get what they've been craving for in a next-gen football game!!

im looking forward to this title hitting the shelves!!

I'm still amazed how far this game has come. It has already exceeded my expectations. I read one post where someone was concerned about the devs having to tell the AI not to grab facemask...really think about what that implies and you'll realize the depth of this game. Let me make it easy...1st time pee wee football player...ok tackle whoever has the ball anyway you can just don't grab their facemask because thats illegal.

The thing that has me the most hype is the way the runner stretches the ball towards the goal line. This implies that players have on the field awareness which would also translate to toe taps, end zone catches, runners trying to get the 1st down and runners trying to stop the 1st down. I don't know how many times I've been frustrated in Madden because the player didn't attempt a toe tap on what should have been a completion. This will make this game more sim because actual football comes down to plays like this...

Re: Backbreaker Video: Developer Diary #2 - Euphoria (Gamespot)

I really hope they pop together a quick quarter of gameplay only. To me, it really still seems like they want to keep a lot of their ideas hidden as long as possible to not only build hype at the right time, but to limit what the competition knows. If their competition knows all the features and exactly what a game is about, they'll try to lift a bunch of selling points and slide them into their product.

If Backbreaker waits, they can ideally get their ideas released without them being emulated in THIS year's game. We've all seen it in the past, 2 games competing and stealing ideas. By the time BB releases, their competition shouldn't be able to implement similar technology.

Still, I want to see what this game is all about. It's been YEARS and now we are so close.... come on!!!! lol
