I'm hoping to not have to, but I've considered going there instead of all the way up to the other spot if need be.

Re: MLB '10: The Show Blog: Catcher Calling the Game

This is a great thing to add to the game but I'm not sure yet if I want to play a catcher. Instead of 10-15 min RTTS games, it'll be like an hour for each game. With good durability, that's like 150 hours to get through a regular season.

The only compromise I can think of is to do what I do during a full season mode, play the first game in every series. In this case, I'd call the pitches the first game of the series and then turn the option off until the next series. Otherwise, getting through a season would seem long and tedious and getting through a career would likely take years of real life play.

This isn't a complaint by any means, just me voicing my thoughts out loud.

I think what he was getting at, and Mekias reiterated it, that it would take almost as long as actually playing a season to get through.

Re: MLB '10: The Show Blog: Catcher Calling the Game

heres my impression of the catcher mode in RTTS...its for the die hards, the old timers, the control freaks and the guys that want to try it out..so a little bit for everyone.

The guys that have the luxury to spend countless and countless hours playing as a catcher will be able to..this might be leading up to the ability to transfer your career to the next years release..or a test run to see if the mode works out to put that much effort into it. I may be way off base with that speculation but as everyone mentioned this mode is super deep for one position, but rightfully so.
I asked for the catcher position to be able to be more of an on field manger as did many others..and now we have it and its pretty friggin' good. My thought is now..being a catcher coming up through AA as a catcher allows me control more of the game and feel like it makes a difference.

Speaking of the catcher, anyone recall over throwing 2nd on a steal attempt and giving up an extra base happening much to them? It only happened once to me.

I figure with the throwing meter and arm strength really mattering would mean arm accuracy would take a bigger role too.
