here, read up on the game....I think you'll be surprised...its nothing like Blitz

it might actually be one of the best simulations of the sport....

this gives you an idea of how you play the game...

I'm not sure if I will like the Camra idea, but I'll have too see when it comes out. Otherwise it sounds great!

The camera angle is growing on me, especially from the Quarterback (QB) position. The need to actually look "over the shoulders" of both OL & DL to scan for open receivers will make the offensive attack/scheme more difficult than traditional "skyview." Hopefully, judging whether the receiver is truly open will also be much more difficult. Hopefully, this added vision of difficulty decreases "arcade-type" offensive scores at will.

In NFL2K5, we sort of have already seen something along the lines of what Backbreaker wants to do, albeit in a first person perspective (and not 3rd person). Not backbreaker, but some resemblance.

NFL2K4 – First Person Point of View
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gZ068W8KRzI

Short Version
I would like to see WR vs. DB line of scrimmage and down field interaction:
  • Back Pedaling
  • WR vs. DB interaction
  • Back Pedaling: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-vFIun1WYzo

  • WR vs. DB interaction: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_HD3AYThmqA

Long Version

I have yet to see WR vs. DB interactions (“battling for field position”) in footage. There are others (and will be named in a later post(s)), but here are two points I would like to see implemented (hopefully they’re in the works):
  • WR vs. DB line of scrimmage interaction, including bump & run coverage.
  • Back Pedaling by defensive backs, and other defenders

A) WR vs. DB Line of scrimmage interaction, including bump and run coverage
Anything remotely on par with this would be super, whether that be 50% plus or minus. I obviously don’t know how difficult this would be to implement.
  • WR vs. DB interaction (’08 Nike Training Camp: USC: WR vs. DB)
  • I would like to see DB keep tab on his assigned WR either through:
    • “Head tracking” the WR whether it’s aimed at the head, shoulders, hips, feet, arms, or any part of the body to determine the intended direction of the WR.
    • Feel out the WR simultaneously with his arm while head tracking both the quarterback (QB) / football.

The only remote preview of WR vs. DB interaction can be seen @2:13 (screenshots series right below if you don't want to watch the video again.)

Obviously not the most impressive display of the bump & run or WR vs. DB line of scrimmage interaction either, but it’s a small taste of what we might expect to see. Improvements definitely need to be made. I would like to see improved footage in their next set of Developer’s Diary.

B) Back Pedaling

Back pedaling especially by defensive backs (DB), or any defenders.

Back Pedaling – APF2K5 (Deion Sanders coverage)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-vFIun1WYzo
This is the same one you saw up in the "short version." This needs to be in the game. The DB should also have the ability to quickly make a quick break, and adjust his forward and/or backward motion in any direction.

If you think about it, if “back pedaling” is effectively implemented with DB, it can also carry over to the OL vs. DL interactions when the situation calls for it whether that be in an “extreme” or “modified” situation. Obviously, in a less agile manner.

The “extreme” version would be when DL completely bull rushes the OL causing the entire OL to collapse, and when the OL completely rushes the DL causing the entire DL to collapses. The “modified” version would take place where the OL generates enough force/momentum to stand their ground. In the case of OL vs. DL interaction, “back pedaling” components would allow us to see “momentum” and “force” at work, as can be seen here in the very first play:

Senior Bowl Practice – Lineman 1 on 1

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lao69rFaW9w
-OL has a “modified” back pedal motion. His upper body is still attempting to hold his ground. With proper “back pedal” and modified back pedal program coding, what we see in the above video might be possible, hopefully from an optimistic fan standpoint. What footages we have seen in Backbreaker, we haven’t really seen “push” from the defensive line (DL) or any “resistance” from the offensive line (OL), and vice versa. I want to see “STRENGTH” and “FORCE” implemented through “push” and “resistance.”

Step-over Technique
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4TMwm...eature=related
-Just the beginning part to illustrate “push” and “resistance” to show strength, force, momentum, resistance, etc.

I wouldn't bet on the game being that realistic if Madden can't even do it, and they have been around for years and years
