I tried a few search strings on this thread but didn't really turn up anything useful...

Is there any kind of major drawback to turning off player roles to fix big man shooting 3's? Does it affect any other aspects of gameplay?

What exactly do player roles do, anyway?

player roles will bring personality types into play more and also affect attributes, ratings and whether or not a player will like a transaction more or less. for example, if you change dwight howards role to bench player...he'd going to get mad and it will affect his standing with the team and his ratings.

i just found out there is a drawback to turning roles off...after i started my association and thought we were good to go and got past the 3 pt. chaos. basically, you will see a TON of trades every month. guys going to multiple teams. not just bench players but solid players and some stars. Every month too. i simmed a bunch and you will see an insane number of trades.

Yeah, it's almost a must to turn trades off if you turn Player Roles off. I've seen a player get traded to a team only to have that player get traded back to his original team (for the same player he was swapped for originally, no less).

I guess I'll just let all player movement take place during free agency.

I dont understand it at all. I'm a 6'2'' pg on the thunder...typical in game lineup (at first dead ball of game...they give me 38 min a game as the 12th man off the bench)

1 - me
2 - westbrook
3 - harden
4 - durant
5 - green

then the small lineup:
1 - me
2 - maynor
3 - westbrook
4 - harden
5 - durant

then the most jacked up lineup...they seem to use it more vs teams with dominant big men:

1 - me
2 - maynor
3 - westbrook
4 - harden/durant - ive seen both in this situation, but its usually harden
5.....GRANT FREAKING HILL. They traded for him, and play him at C????

worst sub logic ever in this mode. then end of game they like to bring collison in at C. Ok at least he has a little size right? Too bad he just stands 20 feet from the basket...and he likes to throw up airballs from 3.

Wait, so you can turn chemistry off and keep roles on and the 3pt stat will be fixed?
