I'd like to see this too. No player indicator -- or at least something less visually-intrusive -- would be great. I love turning off as many visual aids as possible, which is a big reason I prefer classic pitching from the outfield camera with no post-pitch info. Don't quite have the gusto to go with no pitch cursor yet since I'm new to the game, but in time...

No option for that to be turned off. Quick question though, how would you know who you were controlling? If many really wanted this, my suggestion would be to set it up like the pitching cursor setting "on" or "fade". Where it would highlight the player at first then disappear immediately. That way you could get some identity on who you are controlling.

On the fielding aspect the one thing I keep doing is trying to dive with say my second baseman and my right fielder dives and the ball goes by him. Am I doing something wrong or is it something with the game? Thanks in advance for any and all feedback esp my main man Nem04.

Yes, it would have to absolutely be a fade effect.

It is not you there is a tuning problem. The system is prematurely determining that your infielder will not get the ball thus triggering control to the next fielder able to make the play. The switch needs to be slowed down until the ball is out of the infield so you can at least make a diving play with your infielder.

They are aware of the problem. Fixing it seems to be a whole other issue.

That was a "issue" that was brought up fairly early last year when the bugs/glitches thread was started, so yeah, I agree that they have probably done some work on that. I think when '09 came out and there admittedly quite a few problems, it was stated by various SCEA folk that the timelines were tight and that a lot of stuff they wanted just couldn't make it fully in. That's probably what led to some of these "issues". Based on those discussions and what has been stated about '10, I honestly think that most, if not ALL, of the bugs and issues we saw last year will be gone.

Also to mention Ramone did say that fielding got lots of love this year. We have to wait till more info comes out to see what love was received. But I am confident as you said.

I mean there's no reason to not include the off option, either (for those who want it). Just like there's an option for no fly ball landing markers if you so choose, which I do.

As for figuring it out? You find out within a split-second, honestly. Normally it's pretty obvious, but other times when it's between three people, you just have to move one direction and be lucky, if you're wrong, you re-route. But again, eventually there are some giveaways and you just get used to it, like in this case the camera will help dictate who's closer (if it is directed to center, you're more than likely the center fielder... if it's directed to left, you're more than likely the left fielder).

I've always wanted to find a way for this to work in hockey and basketball video games especially, but that game has such a large amount of player changing on defense that I can't yet find a reasonable way that it can be solved. However, this worked in ESPN MLB 2K5, and I'd like to see that option included again.

Like Qb, I turn off nearly every visual aid that I can. I even turned off baserunner windows. There was unfortunately no way to turn off the power swing aid on the corner, and I like to use pitching meter so that would pop up, but thinks like the cursor, strike zone, the stuff after the pitch, throw meter... all of that is just gone. It basically looks like a game of CPU vs. CPU minus the power swing aid, player indicator, and pitch meter.

A fade option would also be appropriate to include, I agree.
