Problem is I've been saying it forever and no one listens. I blame the fact that most people don't know much about NBA offenses other than "Kobe should shoot jumpers," "LeBron should drive," and "Dwight should dunk and get a lot of rebounds."

Actually, my only concern with the current game is the fact that interior passes are just too easy to make, regardless of the sliders. I have Hands lowered and Play Passing Lanes raised and all the CPU tendencies lowered, but on Superstar, the CPU just relies too much on cheesy interior cuts as opposed to strategic basketball. I always feel like they're only scoring via cheese.

Also, it's too easy for the user to make interior passes as well. I'm not talking about post up passes, I'm talking about cutters streaking down the lane unguarded. And yes, I have the slider for keeping the defense glued to you (forgot the name) increased as well. It's just too easy to make interior passes.

And that leads me to the last issue. Because of the aforementioned issues, you can't play on Superstar or Hall of Fame because it feels like the CPU is on constant cheese. And I can't play on anything lower than Superstar because . . . the CPU doesn't seem to have any urgency to score. On anything lower than Superstar, I never feel like I'm going to lose. The CPU plays more realistically on lower levels, but they play with a greater sense of urgency on higher levels. I wish there was a happy medium.

As for tendencies, I guess it would be nice to see Kobe taking more fade-aways and jumpers and Carmelo posting up more, but the superstar on the team is almost always the high scorer in my games, so I can tolerate that.

Looking at the list the only thing that bothering me right now. Was the passing fix mentioned.

"Lowering the auccracy of passes out of the double team, out of contact shots, non-inbound full court passes."


I know people will flame me....But I think the passing worked perfectly in my opinion.

If the defense was in position down court. A long pass usually ended up being either stolen or out of bound turnover. Am I the only one that thought it was tough already to pass out of a double team.



I’m kind of afraid to download the patch because of this. But I think it all works out in the word of SIM.

Are you an Online player? I don't play Online or H2H games, so maybe the passing was fine in 2-player games, but it wasn't fine when playing against the CPU.

Almost every CPU player could pass like they were an amalgamation of Nash, CP3, and LBJ. Good defense was negated too often by the perfect court vision, and more importantly, the laser beam like accuracy of the CPU's passing in the half court sets.

I throw the ball away the majority of the time when I try to make those same ill advised passes. I just want the CPU to have the same failure rate as I do. Especially with poor passing Bigs.

AAAhhhhhh vs the CPU.....

I NEVER play the CPU. Maybe once in a while. But I have seen exactly what your talking about. CPU cheats too much.

Edit: But also from the sounds of it...he talking about users.

I'm ok with the lowered success in contact animations/pass success(Like you, I will have to see it in action). I mainly play online and passing out of a contested jumpshot was far too accurate for my taste for the user with any player. The biggest no no in passing is leaving your feet before passing.

I do agree with you about passing out of double teams already being difficult. I use the sixers exclusively and my bigs have a hard time passing out of doubles, turning it over quite often. On the flip side, double teaming Kobe or Lebron "2K" James often proves meaningless as they can easily pass out of doubles at will and find wide open 3pt threats like D Fish, Mo Will, Delonte, etc. I think they need to lower the success for some of the high profile wing players imo. Again I'm speaking simply from a head to head standpoint.

EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.
