Yeah, a game that came out in 2004 in development in 2003 should no longer be compared to next year. Its funny, soon we will get the developers of Madden saying, next year were gonna do . . . except they say that every year, so last year when they said it, they meant to say in two years. The damn Madden series has been around for over two decades and still looks like robots on ice. We all know why they wanted only one pro football game to exist, so nobody could compare it to anything. I wish they would've had to actually make a great game year over year to get sales, they didn't, it shows.

Re: Madden NFL 10 Patch #2 Roundtable

Why do I get the impression that online dynasty mode (or just online in general with any title) has taken priority over offline AI or sim computing formulas to expand that experience?

Unless the title is developed strictly for offline (which is becoming more and more less frequent...haha oxymoron there I know), the offline mode suffers in my opinion. My take is if you will not support it efficiently (waiting for the next go around aka "Madden 11" is not efficient) then don't waste resources and public opinion in developing it.

**I do understand that 2 patches is much work and effort but what do you take out of that? The fact that you needed to patch it twice already or the new problems that have risen from the patches? Oracle databases have less problems then Madden.

The stat tracking doesn't make sense to me. I mean it had it's minor issues in the past, but I remember it being somewhat realistic. How could they get simulation right back in 2001 but are so far off almost a decade later?

I can understand issues with gameplay, graphics, etc. But simulating stats is a logic element and I don't see how it can get consistently worse from year to year.

Not just stat tracking either, almost all the AI. Late game coaching decisions and GM blunders by the CPU. I just think these are elements of the game that should be better every single year. Like when I buy a game like Sim City, Civilization, etc, the AI gets better every single version. This is one of the only games I can think of where the AI keeps getting worse (not gameplay, but logic/decision wise).

Wouldn't it make sense for them to hire some of the text-sim creators to work for them? There are some great games that simulate to near perfection. I would think their input would be extremely valuable.

Nothing is ever, nor ever will be perfect. Were not talking perfection, were talking about parts of this game that should have been ironed out years ago, that still plague the game, such as OL run blocking. Then when EA does correct something, another issue pops up. Then they release a patch to correct certain issues, and create other issues, such as stats in franchise sim games. I have purchased Madden every year since the very first game came out, and i know what i see year after year, just like a lot of other Madden gamers. For once on this forum, id like to see people stop making excuses for EA, and everyone collectively voice how this game is not where it should be after 20 freakin years. Is it better than what it was 10 yeras ago? Yes, but still not what it should be.

This patch was a total waste of my time. At first I was enjoying this game but now after all the glitter looses the shine, most of the same issues that have plagued this game are still there. I hope one day EA can make a good football game but I just dont think it will happen anytime soon.

So, you went from ambulance chasing and "He'll remember that number" (earlier versions of Madden) to I need everything I see on Sunday to resemble a video game?
