Re: Madden NFL 10 Patch #2 Available, Impressions Here (PS3)

played another great game last night in my franchise vs the Chiefs. One thing that I've noticed after 5 games post patch is how much more improved the defense is. I play on all madden and before I'd be lucky to hold teams under 30 pts with the Raiders in most cases. I've given up 20pts to the Chargers and held the Chiefs to 14 last night and all 14 came on defensive TD's.

Also, QB play seems better as I was able to generate pressure on Cassell and force him to hurry throws. Cassell finished 12 of 38 last night for a whopping 113yds. Pressure in his face from blitzes, 4 man rushes, stunts, zone blitzes, it was a thing of beauty. Just for comparison sake Rivers went I believe 18 of 26 against me for over 200 yards of offense and had less pressure than Cassell.

This game is golden imo after patch #2...simply golden. And I cannot wait to see how they build off of this next year.

All I can do is shake my head and laugh. People have been saying Madden (insert number here) should be the one for how many years now?

Re: Madden NFL 10 Patch #2 Available, Impressions Here (PS3)

A couple of things I recall being mentioned/asked in this thread and I thought I would share my experience.

Someone else brought up the fact that you will no longer see players who are injured listed as doubtful, questionable, or probable, and that is correct. Asomugha was injured in preseason and at the start of the season he was listed as out for one week. He sat out week one and returned week 2 without being listed on the injury list.

Also, I believe it was asked about running backs breaking out of gang tackles, well it still happens. I had McFadden breakaway from about 4 or 5 guys last night, on his way to an 88 yard scamper for a TD. This is the only time I've seen it in 5 games post patch, but it still appears to be there.

They took out players being listed as doubtful, questionable, and probable? Are you serious? Was this in before the patch?

Also alot of people are saying that they play with Advanced settings because of the replays. Are there replays in Hardcore setting? What the hell is the difference between the two anyway, besides that advanced allows you to use that rewind crap?

CB....very much anticipating the patch for the 360 this week...good to hear your impressions. Are you playing All Madden default or adjusted sliders?

Yes I am serious and yes it was in prior to the patch.

There are no replays, at least I haven't seen any, on the hardcore setting. Could be that I have Backtrack turned off, as I'm not sure whether or not this has any effect although I doubt it.

The difference as far as I can tell is how quickly the cpu adapts to what you are doing and trying to exploit its mismatches. They also do not sell out blitz on every 3rd down on hardcore setting, as they seem to do on advance. Those are of course are of personal experience/opinion and are not concrete.

The only sliders that I've messed with is the interceptions for the cpu as I lowered them down to 25.(its 25 by default for the user on all-madden) I also raised my reaction time on passes to 50. Outside of those two, I have not made any other changes.

Wow...the injuries thing upsets me. So I see you play on All-Madden, as do I. Are you playing on hardcore or advanced?

Also has the game speed changed? I keep reading that the game is faster now. So which speed setting is the best now? Before it was slow right?
