From what I've experienced so far if you get a big lead the CPU's PG will start shooting a lot since in general they are taking quicker shots to try to come back.

Too early for me to give you an honest answer and that is what I expected off the bat. Ask me around New Years and hopefully I'll have a good answer for you. I loved Live 10 for two weeks but I already sold it. I really like NCAA 10 after five games, no gameplay slider tweaks, no roster edits and no in-depth look at dynasty mode yet. There's a lot to explore still but I think the potential is easily there for this game to take up a majority of my basketball gaming time this winter.

2K8 is my favorite sports game of all-time but the game play requires less basketball IQ and execution than most care to admit. It's more arcadish than most care to admit as well. I won a national title on MOP with UConn and the only two plays I ever called were my two created zone overload plays. Other than I never called a play and still cut down the nets. At this point I want something more, way more plays, better plays and the need to actually call those plays - and NCAA 10 has that. More real life basketball strategy and execution. I have no doubt that when NCAA 10 is fully edited its gameplay will be better overall than 2K8.

At the same time I'm pretty sure that you and me differ quite a bit in terms of what's important to us in a college basketball game. I can get by with a serviceable dynasty mode and great gameplay, I think the dynasty mode is most important to you based on what I've seen you post about 2K8. So the game may not be for you.

You can also check my blog entry in my sig for some more detailed stuff, and as I mention in there people in your situation should probably wait a month or so to get some good feedback from those with the game who have spent a lot of time with it and let the initial wow factor wear off.

Does shot release timing matter?

From the videos in the highlight threads it appears that it doesn't. A lot of shots are released on the way down but still are good. It also looks like there is a hitch in all shots.

I have found that all conference gives the cpu's players better ratings than what they have listed. I played some team that had all c-'s and and d's and they dominated on the boards and had one turnover at half.

Any boddy have any AI settings that are working for AC, seems like no difference between bad teams and good ones? The computers center with 45 dribbling will part my entire defense on route to an easy off balance layup.

Maybe UVA sucks on the game but they are still rated an A-

So what level are you guys having the most realistic play with?

You played Live, right?

Same deal, I can't tell if it matters. The EA devs said in the Live forum a while back that shot timing has little to do with success even though Mike Wang said the opposite in the shooting tutorial vid for Live.

I've been running on All-Conference. Varsity is the only other level I have tried and it was just not much of a challenge.
