Re: NHL 2K10 Patch Mention

Well, you should know Dafly that 2K isn't going to release a list of "what's going to be fixed" before they fix it. I'm sure however they wanted people to know that they are working on a patch so they don't abandon the game prematurely(which most probably already have).

Re: NHL 2K10 Patch Mention

The last I heard they were getting a list together of all the things the patch was going to address. I know everybody is in a hurry, but I say have patience and if you can't have patient take the game back and get the game again when the patch comes out.

Re: NHL 2K10 Patch Mention

take the game back ? lol the trade in value is less then ten dollars after 1 week release. so there is no way ill trade it to get 10 bucks and come back and spend another 50 bucks.

at least we are getting a patch thanks for that and they are replying to our posts a first for there company thanks for that as well.
there are many great things about your game that gives me hope
your arena re representation is by far one of the best aspects of the game as well as your cyberfaces great job, but it is time to start incorporating what we hockey fans like and that is eas gameplay.

being able to cycle the puck and actually feel like your playing team hockey no matter if it is realistic or not it keeps you entertained with your current game you can pass maybe 1 to 2 times in the zone and then the ai is lost your goalies are ugly the masks do not look right on them.

and with out goal review to me is like playing madden or any other football game without being able to review calls is a big disapointment. as a company you could have incorporated a very key aspect to the real nhl game. that none has had the courage to put in, in fears that it would slow online play.
in real hockey during hockey games they review every goal and take them away for redirects that the players stick was to high or the goal crossed the line after the period ended or there was some kind of interference and to make sure the right people get the goals. this creates drama or chances to beef up your weak comentary
during gameplay you do not have enough stat overlays cutscenes or individual stories talked about during a game that make your game worth playing for like a week then that is it

but i will buy nhl2k11 like i have bought every previous version
so this is not a bash thread

No, If I wanted to play EA Hockey, I would, and I do. I rather enjoy the fact that each have a different style and feel to their gameplay. The two best things VC can do for their hockey game is smooth out the controls and the animations. If they can do this for or even before 2K11, they will be well on their way. The goalies and making the default settings more realistic would be the next two major improvements needed. It kind of sucks spending so much time tweaking sliders. I can't believe I just said that

I partly agree with this, smoothing out controls and animations would definately be huge. But fundementally, the game in its current state is flat out broken. Until they get both goaltenders and defensive minded players actually playing at an NHL level, no matter the sliders, for all it does well the game isn't very good in the grand scheme of things. More loose pucks wouldn't hurt either.

Re: NHL 2K10 Patch Mention

well they definetly need to go to sound school the on ice sounds are terrible and sometimes absent and i agree the game is slugish the player movement is terrible and not very responsive and how many have you tried to shoot the puck in front of the goalie and it don't happen. that happens alot to me the player has to do some kind of iso move before he will shoot.

i also feel that none who has made a hockey game on next gen has figured out how to make the game more realistic with the line changes and actual fatigue that players endure during long shifts to much ice time and playing to many games back to back or traveling long distances there are just to many variables that come into play on why a team does not play well.

but it all centers around how fatigued they are so 2k come up with a new dynamic system start adding features that none other have thought of a practice feature like nba 2k series has lets make fatigue effect everything ice time overall ability and risk to injury.

I believe this is because 2K made so that players actually have to be in reasonable position to shoot the puck. They can't just contort their body any way as in EA and pull off the shot. It's actually something I'm rather glad to see and something that bothers me with EA's shooting the puck. It generally doesn't matter which way you are facing, if you have control of the player you want to shoot, he will shoot the puck.

I totally agree on this. However, I think there are a number of situations where the puck and the puck carrier should be separated after a hit and because of the current puck "magnetism", that doesn't happen. As a result, you get times where a player gets pinballed around and you have no control over them for a few seconds, which can be frustrating and just looks and feels odd in general. I've tried bumping up the hitting effectiveness, but that doesn't seem to affect the puck loosness. Imo, the lack of puck retention adjustability is something sorely missing from 2k10.
