NBA Live 10 Patch Impressions (360, PS3)

To their credit...the EA guys have been really active for months now, letting everyone know exactly what's been going on and what to expect.

Since the patch dropped with tonnes of bugs...a lot of people have said "will there be a second patch?" to fix everything etc.

So far they've been silent.

Their twitter stuff says "working on LIVE 11" and Marcus has said in another thread that he won't be around here for a while anymore.

Call me cynical, but that seems to me to be "see you next year fellas"...i.e. no second patch.

I would think they would have to fix these major bugs that the patch caused or else they would probably lose a lot of customers. I cant imagine that they would leave it this way. No OT, No points awarded for goaltending, those are major issues that make the game unplayable. Thats like a football game not awarding 3 points on fieldgoals, lol.

I can't blame the developers for not wanting to come around here, but I'm really hoping they're reading some of the comments and drop another patch because it's neeed even more than it was before the last one. I keep turning on the game and can't even seem to get myself to play a full one anymore.

They are not re-established enough to pull that type of bafoonery...if they did, they would lose the fans that they have regained. 2k probably thought a lot of people would not make good on their threat to leave but that happened. Couldn't get their online servers right so I dropped em...if Live was to just leave the game as is with the known problems I would not purchase it next year. I seriously doubt they would leave it as is.

Court_vision - Could you post your impressions of playing on Superstar diff. after the patch drops on PS3? I've yet to come across other people who've been playing on that level, just want to see if you have the same feeling as I.

On another patch... I certainly would hope they're looking into these problems, and releasing another version of this patch debugged. As to whether or not it will happen... I'll remain optimistic until given reason not to be.

The fact is that the Live 10 team has been great with communication, and although some may feel like they've abandoned us, we may have to take a step back and look at it through their eyes. They're working 9-5 on a basketball video game... and although I'm not questioning their love for what they do, I'm sure there are some days when they'd just like to get away from it, go home and relax, hang out with family and friends... not come on a forum and talk more about what they've been doing all day. It's a great job, but it's still a job.

I'm positive they're hearing us, and am hopeful that we'll have a response from somebody on the team in the near future. If they weren't looking into our issues, I'm sure they'd come out and say, "There will not be a second patch, the game is staying as is"; if not, the respect they've gained this year will have been lost.

I did spot this on Garreth's Twitter, though:

I agree totally. My primary motive for buiying this game is the DNA and Dyamic Season patch...which means I 100% have to d/l the patch. I don't have a choice.

It's unfortunate what happened with the 360 patch...but I honestly can't see EA sending out a patch to PS3 users knowing that it's going to screw our games up. Knowing that they are going to inflict bugs on the product we paid $$$ for.

Call me naive, but I just don't see them doing that and am hoping the PS3 patch has been double checked and the bugs removed.

If they have sent it out...after knowing the 360 one has tonnes of bugs...then that will be a disgrace.

Let's see.

You can't inflict an O/T bug on a basketball gaming public...no O/T is just insane.

2. I think it was Pared who said it a few days back...but EA basically can't afford to NOT release another patch.

These guys spent four months basically on every sports gaming site around saying "hey, this is a different EA...trust us".

If you give your users a Godzilla sized series of bugs...I mean, we are talking about games not going to overtime ! ...games where a user wins GOING to Ovetime...!!!...CPU AI dribbling down the shotclock when behind...the CPU fouling the user and sending the user to the free throw line when the user is behind...these are some seriously comical bugs that just kill the late game experience.

1. I hope the PS3 doesn't get inflicted with it...sorry 360 guys, but just because the fella down the road got the swine flu...i don't need to get it also.

2. If they do give us all those glitches as well...and don't patch it = goodbye credibility. 100% gone.
