Do Favre's stats during his franchise play with the Vikings add on to his overall career record? Or does the game think that they're separate people?

I broke Michael Strayhans record for most sacks recorded in a season and nothing happened there, maybe I have to get the most sacks in a career to see anything happen?

Yes, the comment from Ian is only related to breaking CAREER records.

I think the way season records are handled is nice. They track the chase once you get close and mention it when you pass someone just like in real life. Only problem with season or game records when you have already beaten them and just add on to it the commentary treats it everytime like you just broke the record. Gets kind of annoying if you break a season record with a few games to go.

Career records are the problem and don't meet what expectations were built up by devs.

And as a Cowboy fan you should know that when Smith broke the rushing record they stopped play for 4 MINUTES!! With Balloons, fireworks and everything:

For TD records its even a bigger deal cuz the game is already stopped anyway.

What I find most disappointing about this whole thing is not that its not in the game when Ian said it would be its just the complete lack of a response to this issue. If the devs ignore it will we just forget about it? It would just be nice to hear that yes it was in the game and somehow during finalizing the game it got accidentally removed during some fixing of other problems. Its normal when you fix one problem there is a risk others will occur (see Patch 1). But some sort of explanation would be be really appreciated along with info on whether Patch 2 can get this feature allow with stadium specific sounds (which was also promised) back in the game. Is that too much to ask?
My bad, I think i read the thread wrong, I was talking about season stats, you guys are discussing career records, my apologies on that one. I see what you guys are hinting at, I stand corrected.

Has anyone received confirmation if anything happens when these carrear records are broke? I was excited to read this from Ian back when it was listed, but seams many are saying nothing happened for them. Id love to hear from the devs on this one if a mod can help submitting this question to them.

I asked Ian via twitter about 2 days ago and I've gotten no response. Either two things, Ian thought that just the mentioning of a player breaking a record in game was extremely cool or whatever Ian was talking about didn't make it into the game. Because saying "we won't be disappointing" leads us to believe that something big was going to happen not just mentioning the record....if saying "we won't be disappointed" isn't HYPE I don't know what is.

Maybe he was referring to the sense of self-accomplishment. As in, "you won't be disappointed" if you break the career rushing record. Sure, I guess I wouldn't be disappointed if I accomplished that.
