Instead of some abstract, pie-in-the-sky scheme about pushing for a playable game, why not do something useful and practical... like just not buy it until then?

In addition, I don't own a sports game on NG that doesn't have patches, so, I don't see what the big deal is. It's pretty mandatory with sports gaming on NG with one year cycles. NBA Live doesn't seem to be without faults, either, with 45 pages of patch requests.
That's great if you didn't spend $65 for the game! Smart move. Now, I won't disagree that 10 is better than 08-09. Madden 10 is in the room but it can't sit at the table yet. There are still huge problems in gameplay. Man coverage, flats, pursuit angles and suction blocking. If you feel it's okay, then like you said, "it works for you". Which is your opinion and you're entitled to that. Mad respect for that! In my book, that's just not a true representation of the NFL. It's more like EA's representation of NFL Football.

I never said that Live didn't have any faults. I just think that it's more playable out the box than Madden is.

Patches are pretty mandatory on Next-Gen Sports? Well, I wouldn't say mandatory, but more like a common theme, lol! It really depends on how well that QA team is in regards to how significant the patch is. Now, no game is perfect. That I know. Some of these issues that are in this game should have NEVER made it past QA and even you know that. There are literally people that have this game collecting dust and allow it sit as a paperweight until it's fixed with a patch.

If you read my comment earlier, I did say that I haven't bought a Madden since 2005? When I say push for a playable game, that doesn't just mean get on a message boards or constantly send e-mails. Customers having been doing that for the past 3 years now and it hasn't helped much. EA knows how to make a good football game. They have Madden 04 & 05 lying around at their offices to help them out and they can also buy NFL 2K5 and check it out. That also means hit them in their pockets and don't buy. Hurt their sales by boycotting and refusing until it gets better.

Re: Madden NFL 10 Blog: 2nd Title Update Preliminary Details

In addition to some of the other good points, I wish we could have full control with the right analog stick over the person in motion, like ps2 Madden 10 and several NCAA releases allow. For example, there are a lot of short in-out motions in the NFL for the QB/WR to confirm zone vs. man. Or, as a user, you may accidentally send the wrong person in motion, and want to quickly put him back to get to the correct one before you run out of time!

Not sure if Ian has posted since the start of thread but I'd like to know if he answered the question:

"Do we have to re-start are franchises to get the new updates"?

Yeah, mandatory was the wrong word to say. I like common theme better.

Plus, as you quoted, I didn't say there isn't any game play flaws. My point is that I don't see them occur every single play or every other play. I will be a happy camper if these flaws are fixed.
