Nah, because there's no set format for how the seeds are to be distributed on a bun or if a cheeseburger must have ketchup on both sides or not

Now if there was a cheeseburger-making league and my girlfriend or wife was in it and they made a game about it, I absolutely would want the league reflected in real life and my girlfriend/wife to be reflected as she is in real life.

I wouldn't want someone to "pickle stick" her in the game and ruin her meal when in real life it wouldn't bother her one bit.

As for this comment, I feel u but you have to understand that there's more to devving games than just getting the end product and glitches happen ESPECIALLY in games that have a year or even less of actual dev time. They have shorter deadlines for different phases of the game and such and when it comes down to the problems, they try to work on the major ones that don't completely kill the gameplay because, again, they only have so much time to work on the game.

Look at the NBA2K series every year - Glitches and legacy issues that have NEVER been fixed. It's not just EA, dude.
Even some of the problems in Madden 10 that they said they fixed, were fixed, to a degree. Sometimes they don't appear and sometimes they do, like the eyes behind the head defenders who know JUST when to turn and bat down the ball. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. I give them credit for trying but I think it's something inherent in the engines that would be too time consuming to fix as it would literally "break" the engine. They don't have time to do that and don't even think about EA taking year off with Madden. Madden is MONEY and stocks would be affected by that type of decision. There would be definite backlash as a company but, bottom line, understand that it's more than just YOU just playing the game. I give them credit for what they have tried and done.

Heck, I wonder how much dev time and/or devs this is taking away from the next Madden to keep trying to work on these patches. I'm pretty sure they have a small handful of guys working on the patch while the rest try to bang out ideas and such to get an alpha done.
No one said that EA has to put out or RUSH OUT Madden every year! They could've supported 09, taken the year off to assure they wouldn't have these issues, and in 2012 they could go out with a bang! This is not the case. The developers have taken a laid back approach because they didn't have to worry about any other game. Now it may be their own arrogance that costs them. They learned nothing form 09, and I'm guessing they will learn nothing from this year. From micro transactions to ripped out incomplete features Madden 10 is just in shambles. The first patch caused more problems than it fixed, and I'm seriously thinking that it will take more than 2 to address them all.

Is it easy to put out an annual release, most deffinetly not, but when you have the better part of 10 years to refine a product, most companies don't have that luxury. Imagine an antivirus company putting out a product as bug ridden as Madden 10... they would not exist next year. Firewall developer... gone if it didn't do what it promised. The game is good, but didn't deliver as promised!

Welcome to OS.

1. The stockholders certainly wouldn't appreciate Madden coming every other year. If you were a stockholder, would you keep stock of a company that said to their stockholders, "Sorry, we aren't coming out with our cash cow this year, but we will ramp it up again next year.

2. The license with the NFL also requires EA to come out with a game each year.

Actually they are contractually obligated to come out with a game every year if I read correctly.

Ok i just went through about 10 pages reading wat every1 has been saying. I feel that we shouldnt have to w8 for a patch. I remember back in 2003 when i got madden 04 it was a perfect game no problems along with 06 (last gen). The dev are using patches as a way of being lazy. then when they come out the game still has issues. Also i dont believe they need to take a year off. ur supposed to build on ur last product and fix problems, but EA keeps shipping the same flaws every year and then some. Without comp. They're just gonna do what they want to do becuz we hav to buy there games if we want NFL players and teams. So all we can do is pray

so Madden 04(or any old-gen game at that) was perfect?

wait wasn't that the Madden that had the broken draft class problem and they had to send out replacement disc to people? or was that 2003.

if they had a way to patch it, they would have. games have been getting patches for a very long time on PC. so are PC developers all lazy?

it's nearly impossible to make a game that is bug free(I've yet to play a modern video game that was perfect). patches allow developers to correct mistakes/error/glitches/bugs.

Okay well I didn't want to waste time reading everybody's opinions because I got to go to work in 15 minutes but heres what I think. Have a developing team sit down right now and start working on Madden NFL 12. Don't worry about the rosters yet because those are going to change. Don't focus all of your energy on Madden NFL 12 but start coming up with ideas and try to make them "glitch free" (glitches are inevitable, but some are fixable). But remember to try to make Madden NFL 11 be a good game too. Then, when 2011 comes out, we will already have the cornerstone for Madden NFL 12. Giving us more time to make the game better and fix those annoying bugs.

But now I'm going to address the issue... the patches. EA Sports works on Madden for approximately 11 months of the year. There's no way to make the game perfect. Most games take 2-3 years to make. Eg) Call of Duty (one game comes out each year but Treyarch and Infinity Ward alternate each year on the development), Halo, Gears of War, and most other popular games. So would you rather play a crappy under-developed game for 6 months (time the NFL plays) or a corrected version for 3 months? I think that the patches are a great deal for everybody. And what about the roster updates? Would you rather just play with the default Madden Rosters and the default game play? No, you want the best stuff around.

I hope this opened the eyes of some of you complainers out there. And if you hate the patches so much, don't play madden.
