Sounds realistic to me to simulate fatigue. I like it.

Re: Madden NFL 10 Patch #1 Available, Post Impressions Here

I have yet to see it happen with players who were in pursuit of my player. So far, it has only happened when I was 15-20 yards ahead of the defense with Chris Johnson(he was still fast enough to score several times) It happened on a kick return when I used the Eagles(demps FS) he had 25 yards on the return team and it was like he got a flat tire and the CBs came flying by and tackled me at the 20 yard line(starting kick off btw). It has happened on a big pass play where a LB was covering Jordy Nelson and was in man(compeltely out of coverage) and it was a streak route. The moment he got the ball he started the lag step.

It happened a couple of other times with my friend who was playing against me in each match but I dont recall those specific moments(besides the action camera where it bouced in and out)

If it was fatigue, then why have I only seen it happen to my(or my friend's) ball carrier when they have a huge lead on the other team?

If it is real time fatigue...Why not tell us they were adding it in? It is a major change(bigger then the likes of the slant route with the HBs) that they didnt bother to tell us was happening.

Just saying...and it doesn't happen only to the ballcarrier.

Edit: That's EXACTLY what it is...turned fatigue off and just did a breakaway from the 2 yard line (2 controllers, defense did FG Block and WR had a free run). No hitch at all.
Wrong. It does happen in Practice mode. I just turned fatigue off, and it still happened. My guess: Directly related to pursuit. Another cheap way to get results.

Listen EA: JUST GIVE THE PLAYERS THEIR RATINGS, AND MAKE THE ENGINE POSSIBLE TO SHOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THEIR RATINGS, REALISTICALLY. STOP TRYING TO HELP NOOBS AND CASUALS WITH THIS BS. IF YOU WANT THEM TO HAVE AN EASIER TIME, MAKE A FOOTBALL GAME THAT IS NOT PROMOTED AS A SIM.

Pass this message along to all of the other devs, too. Thanks.

Okay....what team, players and play are you using to see the hitch in practice mode? Because I don't see it at all. I can even do the old "run circles around the defense" thing for a while (with a fast WR), which should NEVER happen with that hitch. If they were really getting slowed down in real-time, I would not be able to pull that off.

Default All-Pro settings, btw.

Since others have posted about this as well, it doesn't matter who I'm using. Jags, BTW.

Anyway, just for you, I loaded it up AGAIN. Practice mode. Jags. Picked some plays. Ran some random plays.....and voila, it happens. But, I only did it for you. Only for you! Because I want to make sure I'm not going crazy. So, I tested some more...strictly FOR YOU. And. It. Happens. Still.

I notice it more frequently after a much needed cut. It doesn't "seem" to happen on every play. But, the point is: IT HAPPENS. Again, without you asking for more proof, this post would not have been possible. So, thanks. I did it all for you! FOR. YOU.

Just kidding. But, yeah, it happens. And it's one of the oddest things I've ever seen, in a videogame. Play it in slow motion, and watch as you freeze, but everyone else keeps moving. Crazy. Again, the same effect of Speed Threshold, now forced upon us. If you don't see it, consider yourself very lucky, sir. Go out, and play the lotto.

madden 10= shtty boo boo

this game is a slight inch better than 09 but i expect greatness from the only football game out.

the flat coverage on this game is horrible, i can hit the flats ANYTIME!!!! they are ALWAYS and i mean ALWAYS open. i hate how EA comes out with the patches to help tune the game but instead make it worse.

I feel like this game is getting more and more like head coach. EA, how hard can it be to make a game where strategy(playcalling, subs, gameplan, etc) + user ability are equally important???? the user ability in this game has been greatly diminished and all these OS bums like it because they have no stick!!!

I am absolutely raw at this game!! just as good if not better than i was on 09, and i making a lot $ playing this game, but i am slowly becoming fed up with it and ready to hang it up.

thank god for NBA 2k10

Two things:

1) The sarcastic tone really wasn't necessary. I was simply trying to do the exact same thing you're doing, so that I might see the same thing as you. Because we clearly aren't on the same page here.

2) You might want to pick your shots a little better. It may not be the greatest video quality (well, that's pretty much a guarantee), but I can take video of what I'm seeing in order to prove myself. Can you?

For starters (and I do have a webcam so I'm not limited to these highlights) watch this:

EA Sports: Madden NFL 10 Video Highlight

Keep an eye on Broncos CB #21 Andre' Goodman - he's the key in showing what's happening. Goodman, a 92 SPD, is actually keeping up with (and IMO slightly gaining on) 99 SPD Hester!

How? It's no speed cheat - Hester was fatigued to yellow from the play I ran before this - the opening kickoff return. He didn't field the ball, but I kept the return going long enough that he had to run around for a bit. That set up the play you see above - a simple slant where Hester beat Goodman and took off.

From the time they fall in line to about the 45 or so, Goodman isn't missing a step with Hester, and, like I said, I think he actually gains a step or so. But things change after that - Goodman slows down, and really bottoms out around the time Hester hits the 15. Meanwhile, that's Champ Bailey blowing by him in the end.

Goodman. Is. Getting. Tired. Just like Hester.

You can see the setting is all-pro (not custom) if you view the video's main page - there is no hocus-pocus going on here. There is one thing I did for the purposes of showing the effect though - turned up fatigue to 100. You won't normally see totally fresh players getting gassed halfway down the field like this, but it was the only way I could show the effect in one play.

Anyone care to comment on this? Believe me, this is not easy to duplicate (I'm tired of running FG Safe Man), so I hope someone at least takes notice.

Edit: One other thing to add: If you look REALLY close, it seems like Goodman's running animation changes just slightly around where he hits the 50. Before that he's more upright, but after he kind of looks like he's plodding. Watch for his head and arms to drop just slightly - just before he starts slowing down.

The hitch thing does happen. I dont have a webcam so I cant capture it, but as I've said before, its usually seen during run plays in the open field and kickoff returns. Its like a freeze in motion, and it looks terrible.
