unless EA fixes the user's teammates this game will continue to be garbage...

i need my team ro be able to anticipate passes and close down the man before he touches the ball, this leads to 1-2 or touch back passes where players advance or make runs. as it stands now every one has acres of space to turn and sprint to goal...

turning to face goal in the final third is VERY hard in football especially against the better teams and the cpu has a good pressing game BUT the user has to hammer B button all game to get some pressure that is stupid...

if i set my team tactic to double they should do that with out me mashing the B button, damn it EA

all i want from fifa is for two guys to press a player trapping a pass force him to play it back and recover THATS ALL THEY HAVE TO DO TO MAKE THIS GAME GREAT

BUT we all here over the years have come to know EA's slogan" if it makes sense DONT DO IT"

Just finished a match in the demo and lost 1-0 I was Chicago Fire vs Juventus. Had a chance to tie the game on a penalty kick in the second half but over powered the shot and missed to the left. The goalie was going to the right had i not over powered the shot would have had a tie game. The CPU had 2 yellow cards and a red card. I had 1 yellow. I have been playing FIFA since it first appeared on the Genesis and thats the first i remember the cpu getting 2 yellow cards or even 1 red in a match. I'm not sure if im going to buy the game this year or not lots of other games to play. Had a blast playing.

You can play it as you like, but I have an issue with playing that way, hence my issue with the game in general.

Just some general comments. I would love to play tactical football, but this game doesn't allow that against the CPU anyways as the pitch scale is way too small and its flies on **** mentality so you have no space with the ball at all. Another major flaw that in no way accurately represents the sport. It is a big reason for the back and forth pinball play. You can get up and down the pitch like nothing, no way that should be possible.

I don't want to be a bad guy, that always comes in here and complains. I try to have intelligent discussions without trolling. I want this to be the best game out there, they just seem to have little clue in how to represent the sport. Harsh perhaps, but what else am I suppose to think after three years of this? They must have spent all of their time on animations which are amazing and top notch, but big deal if the gameplay is awful.

One last point, and this will touch on another fatal flaw. Just got home from the gym and look at the scores. Arsenal trashing Wigan 4-0. Who scored Arsenal's first two goals? Vermaelen who can play on the wing, but usually is central in defense. The odds that against the CPU a defensemen scores twice in the normal course of play as he did? Impossible, just will never happen. Almost impossible even on set plays.

Why is that? Can you imagine if in Madden if running backs could never score against you, or in NBA Live/2K if the point guard never scored against you? The outrage would be out of control. I go to the EA FIFA UK forums and never see a peep about this. I just don't get it. This game is just stale, and not organic enough. Everyone on the pitch is capable of scoring, in this game the programming negates that.

Also in that match fouls 20 for Wigan to 8 for Arsenal. Why do you think that is? If they didn't foul them like this, it would have been 6 or 7 -0. They can't keep up so they have to foul to stop momentum. I can't fully comment on fouls as of yet, but for once will it be accurate in this game?

If you have the better side, you should earn more fouls. Or will the CPU Wigan be able to just kick your *** and foul you all over the pitch and take the ball without it being called?
Ok, I understand where you're coming from now. In past FIFA games, I've never played halves that long. I used to play 6 minute halves, and then 4 minute halves when I got good at scoring goals. I don't think the game is tuned for that long of match. I'm not going to argue whether it should be or not, but thats my opinion on it.

Sports games are becoming more "sim" in general when it comes to time. Look at Madden and NBA 2K. In order to have realistic stats you need to play extended quarter lengths. One of the things I like about FIFA is playing 10 min half lengths though. It allows me to progress through seasons faster. While it would be great to have to play longer halves in order to get realistic stats the game just isn't made for that.

Can you download the demo with a silver membership? I tried to download it earlier and it told me I had to upgrade to Gold. Does anyone know? Is there another way to get another free month of gold once you use the original month that comes with the 360?

It should be available for those with Silver memberships by now. I know, because I have the demo and I don't possess a Gold subscription.

But then again, I used my European account to download the demo, so it may not be available for American Silver accounts yet. In that case, I recommend that you create an European one.

How many people play on manual? This is the first FIFA game I'm going to get and I tried out manual but it's a little tricky to get use to. If I play online, am I gonna get crushed using assisted compared to the people who use manual?

Or if assisted is perfect everytime then what's the point of manual?

You’ll actually be able to filter by control set up online. So you can choose to only play people using all manual controls.
