Ian stated he is waiting approval from the marketing department.

Usually, that is a yes or no proposition. If yes, then Ian can post the blog shortly, in not, he will have to revise it or touch it up.

I'm assuming near the end of the week. That is just my opinion.

Most gamers don't even notice post patch differences I would guess. My friends are just happy to be staring at NFL uniforms. They purchase hype. As long as it sells, EA can maintain the status quo.
It's the only NFL game out there. Of course people are going to buy it. It doesn't matter as long as the NFL License is there. It's an EA game, and retailers won't think twice about putting it under the 60 dollar price tag. It's going to sell, it's the only one of its kind out there....unfortunately....IMO

Its comical how you try to sound authoritative when your simply talking out of your butt.

"your personal experience"? WTF?

So, your telling us that you have had personal contact with every gamer who purchased Madden10, and you asked them if they play online or offline more?

Last year, Madden sold 2 million copies in the first 2 months alone. Lets use just half that figure for this year (because i don't know how many copies they have sold this year, and unlike you, I won't pretend to know something I don't and I won't attempt to make my personal guess sound like a FACT).

So, have you had contact with 1 million Madden 10 users? And, if you have, did they, in fact, confirm to you that they are "strictly online"?

Dude, your assertion is baseless and you should be a little more concerned with accuracy than fabricating your own stories.

You could have avoided all of this by simply saying: "Online play is more important to ME and my associates than offline play"

That would have been a fact.

But, to apply your small sample to the entire Madden 10 playing community is just irresponsible and foolish.

Yes, patches potentially finish the game, you are right. However, patches are meant for one or two things in a game that just didn't respond well or correctly in a game. Madden is trying to fix multiple things with these patches, something that was supposed to be fixed while the game was in production or things that shouldn't have been fixed at all.

Games shouldn't have to fall short and have people think, "this game sucks, I can't wait for the patches to come and make it better!" Patches are there for "this game is great, but if I can get them to fix this one glitch, the game will feel more complete to me.".....IMO
I've seen 2k basketball fix multiple issues with patches.

Also, there are many folks with this game that fall into the "This game is great, but if can get them to fix this one glitch for me............

Just saying, it's different strokes for different folks.

Please name me one perfect sports game that has never been patched on next generation.
IMO people wouldn't have to be so hard pressed to get the patches to be excited or get their franchises started or whatever it is that they are waiting for to have a memorable experience (they hope) to play Madden 10.

If things would have better implemented by the game release time, people could be more excited to see these patches to add to the game, not help fix the game.

I certainly never tried to sound authoritative, I never knew stating my personal assumption about it was coming off as authoritative.

I never claimed to talk to every gamer. I base my assumptions off of the small sample size of people I know. Highly unscientific, I know, but it is all I have to go off.

Again, I never pretended to know something that I don't.

My assumptions are simply that, assumptions, until I see evidence showing me I am wrong, I'm sorry, but that is how I will feel.

Again, you don't have to tell me it is baseless. Are we not allowed to share our thoughts?

I'm quite certain you didn't even read my post because I clearly stated I am stricly an offline player and always have been.

Maybe, is there any data out there that proves it to be either wrong or right?

Yes, but many times people don't even notice that a patch was needed or that a patch was implemented into the game. The game still feels like it did before the patches. Madden is trying to add patches for too many noticeable things that are wrong with this game. They just better get it right and get it right fast...IMO
