The tough part about the direction that this thread has gone in is that it looks horrible. There have been some rotten posts in here...

Threads like this one don't make DLC free. Threads like this are what make developers reconsider DLC altogether.

Re: Madden NFL 10: AFL Legacy Pack DLC Details

I love how the fanboys come out of the woodworks and start bashing people who have opinons about this. Reminds me of the Nazi movement how Hitler brainwashed his own people thinking they are the missing link, pure goodness if you will. For instance, one kid complained that it should be free, fanboy 1 comes out and makes a "witty" remark, 2nd fanboy comes out and assures "everyone" this is the way comments should be. Internet is such a mother ****er, isn't it?

This is consumerism at it's best. Let's be real here people and open the blinds. Lets look outside and see what's out there, instead of being shelled inside home in the corner with all the lights out, tugging on your sadness. There's reality. You see it? Reality is called "IMPULSIVE BUYING". EA got you all fooled. Really fooled. I love how they psychologically twisted some of you to actually pay for stuff like this that should have already been in the game. Instead, EA makes a half assed game with some bells and whistles, that needs to be patched albeit a max of two times, after that, just get Madden 11, right? so some of you guys pay 60 bucks for the game. Then you pay for this "elite" status which comes out about 70 bucks total. Then you add the few other "bells and whistles" that's not included in the game such as to a heal a player faster for .50 ha! In the end, you're spending about 100 bucks in a game.

100 bucks people! Is Madden that serious that you need this? I heard the argument before "Well I have such and such job and I make such and such money. I have such and such status so why don't you just do the same". That's not the point. The point is you are adding fuel to the fire. That fire is increasing and it will surely destroy places (competitors who want to compete in the near future) and along comes fanboyism. The willingness to accept anything that comes their way because of their loyalty. That is to my knowledge extreme dorkness. Basically what i'm saying is, a lot of you are plain dorks. Fanboy dorks. You just don't know it.

Keep supporting capitalism. Soon, we'll find the missing link to a real football game when competitors come out and give EA a kick in the butt to make them actually work for their money. Instead, you guys are just saying, "HERE EA, TAKE OUR MONEY, YOU GUYS MAKE THE BEST GAME EVAR! WE DON'T WANT ANYONE ELSE TO MAKE ANY OTHER GAMES. WE WILL SUPPORT YOU 100%".

Has nothing to do with 2k. It is just a simple fact that they got throwbacks right and also had the symbols on the field. Only reason it was brought up.

Heard about that. This isn't company vs company debate though. It more of a people vs the big wigs. That is why I asked if EA was doing yard sales or selling old Ea stuff on EA to get money too. Are they broke? This just seems like it would be a good chance to show their fans they are loyal to them and are doing all they can. The fact that they are not even on this site talking with us anymore is BS. They have slowly turned their backs at the most convenient times. IT has happened before. I have bought all these crappy games on next gen. Yes this years is playable but this what I expected the first year on next gen. I have learned my lesson and will not buy the Madden on the next gen until it reaches an acceptable level. I bought Madden since it was SNES the first year and have been a fan forever and a lot us still feel slighted.

Just bad timing by EA.
Very true. We haven't had details on what you are fixing and your are trying to sell me something again. Bad timing. But that doesn't matter. A lot of us don't like how interaction has just stopped. Other than the QA thread where 95% of those questions will go unanswered and the Pursuit angels thread. Wha t do we have. Why work on a product so hard and stand by it until it is release and then abandon it like they did. Dumb business move if you ask me.

When it gets released is beyond EA's control.
Yet.. We have no idea other holding on Fg's what is fixed. What are they scared to release more info about it. It just doesn't make any sense.

And please don't use the cop out line that, "well its should've been in the game already" or "I already paid X amount of dollars for this game", because those two lines could be used for any and all games that offer DLC.

So go ahead, please enlighten me and the rest of the community with why what EA/Madden is doing is any different than what any other company that offers DLC is doing.

I think that having to pay extra for songs is stupid too. They are sucking every penny they can get. Why not support the people who bought your game and then see what happens. Are you going to tell me you wouldn't support EA more if they did things like that?

It's 7 bucks...Get a part time job, work for an hour or two, then quit, and you have more than enough money to pay for it. I have bills like anyone else...I have a family, and child, and work very hard for my money. The difference is that I have no problem with saving what I would have spent on the Chick-Fil-A that I normally get on Friday or the money that I use at the vending machine at work for a week or two, and using it to pay for my DLC. It's not like they are asking you to pay another 60 bucks for it. If you don't think you are getting your value for the cost of it, then don't buy it. Simple as that.

My money says that come August of next year, hell will freeze over...right about the time that you are handing your hard earned $60.00 to the cashier for your copy of Madden 11
In your thinking everything is just so simple. Have you ever thought about the fact that you might get laid off or you might run into hard times and that $7 you paid for some football unis could be a whole meal for your family from the grocery store(Yeah that $7 you spent at chick filet could be a whole meal for your kids.just sayin..) when you need to put food on the table. Something you should think about everytime you spend money. I'm 26 with no kids and could easily buy this and forget about it tomorrow.

No, they didn't, they had the patriots retro jersey, which was really their current throwback that they had worn in 02, and the chargers throwback and possibly the bills, but thats it.

There was no afl field anything or patches or anything like that so please stop fabricating up bullsh**.

Re: Madden NFL 10: AFL Legacy Pack DLC Details

Thank you Jesus Ranch for understanding my side. It is really getting crazy how people attack anyone who has an opinion on this game. If you look at my posts you will know I take no sides. I had this gaem a week before anyone and was suggesting people should buy it. I would still do that to anyone who is a football fan. I am asloa fan who has been burned by EA for 4 straight years. Business is business. But having a happy consumer is a big part of business. IT is like the devs catch feelings anytime we point out clear faults and ask some serious questions. I thought that changed with Ian. Now he is gone. If they would have more communication especially right now when people have been waiting on news of a patch it would help how they are perceived.

Re: Madden NFL 10: AFL Legacy Pack DLC Details

Funniest thing about fanboys is that the 1st patch to fix the game isn't even out yet and they're ready to take out their credit cards or ask mom and dad for the money to buy this miniscule DLC which should have already been in the game.

I don't want to hear the devs tell me about how adding all this would make some stuff disappear in Madden 10. If that is the case, why do you have all this stuff on DLC and if all of it's downloaded, why does the game work perfectly fine?

Whats the devs excuse on this? To see who is really a EA fan? I want to hear the reason why they have these for DLC.

I don't get it. So why aren't you playing Madden 06? Football is football. Why are you giving EA money every year if your original next gen purchase offers limitless football enjoyment?

-------------------------

DLC for sports games is weak. Sports franchises already have the luxury of having (pretty much) guaranteed sales every year. That is why I feel DLC for sports games is GREED, unless it is a totally new experience.

DLC makes sense for games that have expandable content and don't expire on a yearly basis like sports games do. It makes sense for CoD and Rock Band. I can play those games for years. Sports games are just going to come out with new versions in 52 weeks.
