So much good stuff. I hope we can play hardcore mode in custom unranked online games. If there was a hardcore-only mandatory 6v6 EASHL subdivision, I would weep tears of joy...

Now this is hockey. Guys losing control of the puck when turning too quick or an unskilled player trying to deke, total control of passing off the boards, the puck not automatically sucked to a player's stick when it goes near them. That little clip of a scrum along the boards was teh awesome as well. Very very impressed.

Oh...and with the obvious amount of human error on hardcore mode passing, is the CPU just as likely to make errors???

Maybe Flyermania, Redshirt or Chase can say something about this???
It'll be interesting to see what the learning curve is like for the hardcore passing. For myself I learned it as the tuning of the system was being done, so it was changing day to day (and I got to tune it to my liking ) so I can't say how that will correspond to what most people experience. At first I was skeptical that it would be at all possible to play, but after a while I got used to it and now I can get into a flow where I'm hitting passes almost as well as with the assisted passing (which is quite a bit less forgiving too for NHL10 by default).

I don't think hardcore passing will appeal to everyone, which is why it isn't the default, but I think those who want the extra control will love it.

The CPU passing is no different if you turn on hardcore passing, however you can increase CPU pass error if you like to level the playing field.

For online games the passing is not the full hardcore passing, but it is MUCH less assisted than 09's passing was. You will see a lot more passes go astray (at least until people master it) and have more ability to play the puck into space. I think you'll understand why when you see what the learning curve for hardcore passing is like.

My biggest issue with 09 is right there in that hardcore video of the missed check - it's showed 10 times in a row. The sticks seem to pass right through each other as the check misses. Is collision detection fixed?
