Seeing as most other games release info a long time before the game even comes out, but I'm used to it when it comes to 2k. It's a bit of a tease viewing Live's new videos and knowing what to expect from 2k but not being able to view it yet.

I don't need a reason to be convinced to buy this game, but I do want to see what kind of gameplay improvements are in store; and I don't think they have to do all kinds of marketing techniques in order to persuade avid 2k fans, let alone casuals.
Actually up until like the last two years, 2k hasn't been that great at marketing their game and the casuals buy Live. If they would have put some more time into doing the "free" advertising like blogs and releasing videos and such online, Live would be even deeper in a grave.

Yep we just don't have much to be excited about I mean info can only do so much trailers and gameplay videos is what gets people really excited most of the time.

Many casuals buy 2k as well because of word of mouth, a few of my friends only bought the game because I told them about it and they loved it.

You have no statistics to prove how many more casual fans buy Live over 2k; so I wouldn't spew out that sort of comment without fact or knowledge.

That's exactly how I feel to sum it up.

Live is showing their fans, "hey, you guys told us these things are problems, so let us give you a few videos showing you that we've addressed those problems".

2k could only do so much for their loyal fan base by showing a vid or two which highlight similar things or gameplay features; again, imho, no one here needs to be convinced to buy this game. I just don't think many people care for this wishy washy Draft Combine info, which seems like an excuse to 'hold us off for a while' and give them more time.

Well your character has to be on the server in order to use him in online team up modes. So by that knowledge they have to keep a constant update of him up there so I can see why you can only upload on at a time. I guess if your just doing the offline modes though you can create as many as you like. Maybe not though.

On a side note though I'm happy to hear how hard it will be to make a great player. Its going to take me awhile but I'm going to bump my way on up to kobe-level.

Do you have any statistics to prove me wrong?

Pretty sure Live advertises more than 2k does, it definitely shows when you walk into a store and see Live banners everywhere (they pay for that). Also when you turn on an NBA game, there is usually some Live commercials, 2k really didn't do that until a couple years ago.

I know I've converted a handful of friends who used to love Live, and they'd buy it because they though 2k sucked because they never saw commercials.

T-mobile commercials with Wade and Barkley show them playing 2k.

Last few years they've had a handful of 2k commercials, they played the KG ones on tv and over the internet on different gaming websites.

Just saying "this company advertises more!" based on your personal perception doesn't support who bought more copies of which game.

Again, it's baseless to say that. I will believe you if you showed me fact or statistics, until then I stand impartial on this matter.
