I will say one thing it would be a little easier to take you serious, if you want praising EA's game so much. You are sounding a lot like that guy in the Madden forum. To me that Arena was sick looking. And that was a sweet goal. Hopefully it is not some canned animation, but something you can do with guys like A.O. They did the same thing with Nash's goal last year. They like to show those kind of goals. I am still pumped for this game.
The models are improved obviously, the skating looks a bit better yay? I mean it only took them 5 next gen versions to make the players look next gen. Do they deserve a medal for that? For what some are claiming is a 2 year cycle I'm sorry, its not that impressive looking, at least with this teaser trailer.

In their defense though its a very small look at the game which is why it baffles me they went this route to show the game off in action for the first time. In marketing the game you want to build confidence, you want to get people excited. Showing Dmen sleeping at the blueline and arcadey looking play (seriously who pushes a puck forward with one hand on the stick? thats just an invitation to get striped of the puck) isn't going to do that. May have been better off just showing someone playing the actual game.

We will just agree to disagree! I think the player models look great. Also, this is VC second year, so that is why it took 5 years. The D man sleeping comment you made would carry more weight if A.O. didn't actually get flatten be a D MAN!

I agree, but I don't EA's do the game justice or they wouldn't be releasing the new showing what the hardcore fans have wanted. We can only hope 2K will do the same and soon.

You don't understand, the trailer consist of different footage stitched together. Watch it again and pay attention to the goalie's pads.

Well a trailer is usually the starting point for marketing a game. Granted it's rather late for many of us to be finally getting info and such for the game, but what can we do? Nothing, other than take it as it comes for what it's worth. I would much rather 2K build their consumer confidence in the fashion that EA does, especially since right now, there isn't much confidence in this series. It would make life much more pleasant on the forums.

As I said already though, last year was VC's first time around with the series and this year is looking like an improvement based on what I have seen and read. I gave NHL2K9 a pass. We can only wait and see what 2K10 brings.

Re: NHL 2K10 Teaser Trailer

whatever happened to Treyarch who developed the initial code I believe to the 2K series on the Dreamcast..? back then.. that game was the chit gameplay wise! Then over the years it started getting away from it's realistic sim roots... specially when Kush took over and made it way to arcadish imo

maybe it's back on track again I dunno.. I always give all sports game a chance butI don't think nothing will beat NHL10. I do like some things in NHL2K9 like fighting and faceoff.. board play.. etc.. but NHL 09 was clearly the better game to me last year overall. and in terms of online play which is the only way I play these days... 2K needs to get something like the EASHL... can anyone tell me if they have that this year? ty

Treyarch was on loan to Sega from Activision at the time of 2k3. Treyarch has gone on to make Spiderman, Tony Hawk and Call of Duty titles for Activision since then. Most recently Call of Duty 5: World at War.
